"OBAMADDICTION: DEFINING CRIMINALITY DOWN" BY THE ALWAYS IMPRESSIVE MELANIE PHILLIPS.
The war on drugs may or may not be being lost (seeNick Clegg’s predictable call for a ‘rethink’ today – in Colombia, of all places!) but the war on the war on drugs is being won.In the wake of the death of the actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, the media pack has decided that the story is that no-one cares any more about drug-taking. Apparently cannabis, heroin, cocaine and other narcotics are just… well, facts of life now to which we all have to adjust.
The corollary is that no-one cares very much about how Philip Seymour Hoffman’s talented life was extinguished at the age of 46. People are shocked; they mourn the untimely passing of a fine actor; former addicts speak matter-of-factly about the impossibility of ever being ‘cured’ of addiction. That’s just how it is, it would appear, and we all have to accept it.
No-one seems to be repelled by the sordid and degrading way this actor died, with a needle still sticking out of his arm and surrounded by bags of a substance presumed to be heroin. We are told that people are sad about this, but not angry. It is not clear whether we are being told we should be angry that no-one is angry.
‘Tragic’ is the word on everyone’s lips, as if Philip Seymour Hoffman was the helpless victim of a terrible accident. Victim he was, but of no accident. He was the victim of a culture which is defining criminality down and relabelling it as a personal tragedy.
A culture which, as a result of this amoral and sentimentalised indifference, is awash with drugs whose use is being regarded more and more as normal; it is the law against them that is said to be abnormal and wrong. It is now not the drugs which have to be got rid of, apparently, but the law.
And Obama’s America is doing just that. Not only have Colorado and Washington State legalised the recreational use of cannabis, and thus been allowed to ride the proverbial coach and horses through federal anti-drug laws.
America’s principal law officer, Attorney-General Eric Holder, also announced recentlythat banking services would soon be open to state-sanctioned marijuana businesses – even though cannabis remains an illegal drug under federal law. According to Holder:
‘…the fledgling recreational pot markets in Colorado and Washington state have sent a new wave of cannabis proprietors clamoring to obtain loans and make deposits in banks and credit unions’.
‘Cannabis proprietors’, eh. We used to call them drug-dealers and criminals, to be prosecuted in the interests of public safety. And according to Holder, there is indeed a
‘public safety component to this’.
Might that component be the irreparable damage cannabis does to the brain; the connection between cannabis and psychosis, impaired motor function, depression, demotivation and aggression; or the fact that countless more young people will now be addicted to cannabis by these states’ criminally irresponsible legalisation policies, not to mention all the other drugs to which cannabis is the proven gateway?
No. For Holder, the threat to public safety comes instead from the lack of credit for marijuana businesses!
‘Huge amounts of cash – substantial amounts of cash just kind of lying around with no place for it to be appropriately deposited – is something that would worry me just from a law enforcement perspective.’
So now the American banking system is to be turned into a giant corporate drug-dealer, enslaving countless more young Americans to drugs, destroying thousands more lives and wreaking havoc upon the social order.
But hey – President Obama himself has said ‘it is important’ that such legalisation experiments ‘go forward’ – because smoking pot, which he did as a kid, is no more than
‘a bad habit and a vice, not very different from the cigarettes that I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life. I don’t think it is more dangerous than alcohol.’
Rub your eyes: an American President, the nation’s ultimate role model, using his uniquely powerful position of influence to talk down the dangers of drug-taking – displaying a level of ignorance only exceeded by his irresponsibility – and talking up therefore the likely incidence of addiction, mental degeneration and death from narcotic abuse.
After Obamacare, Obamaddiction. It’s a tragedy all right – but on a rather larger and more devastating scale than one dead actor.

A Daughter’s Urgent Plea

The elevator stopped at Betsy’s floor. As the doors opened, she made her way to her cubicle inside the law firm. She paused to look outside to take in another breathtaking view of the city. This was just another typical weekday, just like any other EXCEPT Betsy couldn’t shake something from her mind.
“Dad… Dad…Dad…boy, I sure hope he’s all right,” she kept thinking. She couldn’t help but wonder why he was so heavy on her heart. Snapping back to reality, Betsy turned on her computer. She logged in and did her normal routine of opening up to a Christian website to fill her area with music. Next, she opened her email and proceeded to pull up all necessary desktop programs she would need for the day. Then she opened her Bible programs and read the verse for the day from 2 Corinthians 6.1:
“We then as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For He says: In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you. Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”Being burdened more than ever, Betsy felt a tear trickle down her cheek as she lifted up a quick prayer, “Heavenly Father, please save my dad.”Betsy opened her email and hit the compose button: “Dear Dad.” Typing a letter that had been years in the making, she poured out her heart and pleaded with everything within her, for her dad to hear her heart and ask Jesus to come into his life. Finishing her closing plea, Betsy resolutely hit send. Then pausing for a minute, Betsy bowed her head again to pray.Suddenly a light flashed into her office area.
“BETSY LOOK, that plane, it’s headed right for us!” she heard her co-worker say.Across town, Harold had just finished his morning coffee. He sat down at the computer and pulled up his homepage. He noticed an email from his daughter, Betsy. Looking for his glasses to help him read, a jarring interruption came from the TV…“This is CNN breaking news, an airliner has just crashed into one of the World Trade Center Towers.”Harold froze as he watched the horrifying scene unfold. Glued to every word and every camera angle, he felt his heart beat faster. He began to breathe anxiously, “Oh Betsy! Please God, if you’re out there, please protect my daughter!”Racing to the wall and picking up the phone, he looked at his old scrabble scratch writing and began to dial her work number. There was no answer, only voice mail.Over and over Harold repeated the process. As he listened to the news, a deeper panic sat in. He again frantically dialed Betsy’s number and listened. All he could do was to listen. Helplessness and despair were becoming more and more his companions. Over the next few hours and into the early morning as emergency calls overwhelmed the phone lines, Harold got the news that he hoped he would never have to hear. Betsy didn’t make it.

John Kerry Threatens Israel with Intensified Boycotts

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry remains an optimistic man when it comes to creating peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Kerry said regarding peace that he is “hopeful” and that the United States “will keep working on it.” The Secretary of State reiterated that both the Israelis and Palestinians were working overtime to reach a deal.
Kerry stated that stakes were “enormously high” for Israel. Failure to create peace would damage Israel’s reputation as “a democratic state with the particular special Jewish character that is a central part of the narrative and of the future” of creating a “bi-national structure” that allows people to “demand rights on different terms.”
On the current situation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Kerry stated: “Today’s status quo, absolutely to a certainty, I promise you 100 percent, cannot be maintained. It is not sustainable. It is illusionary.”
“I believe in the possibility [of peace] or I wouldn’t pursue this,” Kerry said. “I don’t think we’re being quixotic…We’re working hard because the consequences of failure are unacceptable.”
Kerry specifically stated that failure would cause backlash from “disappointed Palestinians and the Arab community” and would strengthen boycott efforts against Israel. “The risks are very high for Israel. People are talking about boycott. That will intensify in the case of failure,” he said. “We all have a strong interest in this conflict resolution.”
Right-wing MK’s slammed Kerry for threatening Israel with what appears to be increased boycotts and international isolation. Several weeks ago, Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon called Kerry “obsessed” and “messianic” when it came to the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
Economic Minister and Jewish Home party chairman Naftali Bennett called Kerry a “mouthpiece” and accused him of incitement against Israel. Written in a Facebook post, Bennett addressed Kerry “and all his advisers,” telling them “the Jewish people are stronger that the threats against them.” He warned that Jews in Israel would not, under any circumstances, “surrender their land.”
“Only security will bring economic stability, not a terrorist state close to Ben-Gurion Airport. We expect our friends around the world to stand by our side to face the anti-Semitic attempts to boycott Israel, not be their mouthpiece,” Bennett wrote. “In any case, we knew how to stay strong in the past and we will now as well.”
Likud MK Tzipi Hotovely said Kerry’s “threats of an unprecedented boycotts” were “attempts to intimidate Israel in an effort to impose a dangerous agreement that runs contrary to the position of the Israel government.” Hotovely said any peace agreements that undermines Israel’s red-lines would “jeopardize Israel’s security”, which would be “worse than an economic boycott.”
Housing and Construction Minister Uri Ariel (Jewish Home) also responded to Kerry’s comments on Facebook. “Kerry said today that Israel’s economic prosperity and security are an illusion, and that if peace talks fail, Israel will be boycotted,” he wrote. “But the truth is that the only illusions are the peace slogans Kerry is trying to sell to Israel. Slogans that cover up an existential threat to the state of Israel.”
Ariel added that Kerry is a perfect example of “what incitement looks like” and that “the Palestinians can hardly believe how lucky they are to have such a ‘fair’ mediator.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to Kerry’s threats today at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting: “Attempts to impose a boycott on the State of Israel are immoral and unjust. Moreover, they will not achieve their goal. First, they cause the Palestinians to adhere to their intransigent positions and thus push peace further away. Second, no pressure will cause me to concede the vital interests of the State of Israel, especially the security of Israel’s citizens. For both of these reasons, threats to boycott the State of Israel will not achieve their goal.”

Sorting Out the Message of the Moons

Anytime there is an eclipse of the moon or the sun it seems to stir up a lot of interest, sometimes almost as the time Hailey’s comet came in view from earth a few years ago. To me it looked like a smoky dust ball in our southeastern sky, hardly visible, even with binoculars. Then, it was gone in a few days, never to return in our lifetime.
But four total lunar eclipses in two years, projected by NASA are getting considerable attention among Bible prophecy adherents. There is much more to it in that regard, however, than just four lunar eclipses in two years. It’s their timing, visibility and repetitive appearances on certain days of the years. Here is a list of their salient characteristics:
- They will appear on specific annual feast days of Israel. In 2014, on April 15, the Feast of Passover and October 8, 2014, the Feast of Tabernacles.
- They will appear in 2015 on the Feast of Passover, April 4, and on the Feast of Tabernacles, September 28.
- The moon and its signs are distinctly related to Israel. The Jewish calendar is based on a lunar month of thirty days and a 360-day year. Different phases of the monthly moon cycle become reference points for much of Israel’s society.
- The visibility of the eclipses around the world add to the mystery of these so-called “blood moons.” The first one in 2014 will only be visible in Australia, Pacific and the Americas. In October, it will be visible in Asia, Australia, Pacific and the Americas. In 2015, the first one will be seen in Asia, Australia, Pacific, and the Americas. And, the last one will be visible in the East Pacific, Americas, Europe, Africa, and West Asia. In the latter region it will be visible in Jerusalem as the moon sets.
Some Observations about These Characteristics
The full eclipses fall on the first and last feast days of the annual seven-feast cycle, seemingly and perhaps purposely bracketing the annual seven feast schedule for each year. Is it to call attention to this annually repeated pattern since God gave Moses the instructions for their observance so many centuries ago on Mount Sinai?
Is it not strange that while the signs of the moon are directed to Israel’s attention, rather than the nations (Gentiles), these total eclipses are not visible in Israel, except for the final one, and that, hardly at all? It begs the question, why?

Well the Christmas and New Year festivities are behind us now, and we can turn our attentions to more spiritual matters from now on. If you take a look in the right hand column of this blog, you will notice that most of our prophecy branches are springing back into action in February and the following months.
The first branch to take the plunge is Tony McLellan's SWINDON group on Tuesday February 4th when they have the splendid Pastor Jon Ikin from Bath, who is also a council member of the national PWMI. He will be speaking on "End Time Cycles, And How History Will Repeat Itself" based on 2 Peter 2:1-9.
The following week at "The Upper Room" in NEWPORT we have the dynamic and inspirational Jacob Prasch from Moriel Ministries coming to teach on Sunday the 9th February at 6pm.
Jacob will be enjoying an extended weekend in South Wales, as he will also be ministering at The Church Of The Redeemer in SWANSEA on Sat the 8th Feb at both 5pm and 7pm, and again on the Sunday morning at 11am (please contact Pastor Jason Reese on 01792 774945 for more details).
After this we have the CALDICOT branch meeting on Friday February 28th when they have the Rev Byron Jones from Herefordshire ministering, who is another council member of the national PWMI.
The full addresses of these venues can be found in the right hand column opposite, and you will also see there various other upcoming meetings at Swansea, Ebbw Vale, Bristol, and Abergavenny.
PRAYER UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that PAUL WILKINSON is making excellent progress from his horrific bicycle accident last year, and such is the tenacity of this brave young man, that he was determined to return to the pulpit before he should have.
He has already undertaken an arduous trip to Texas in the USA, when perhaps he went against medical advice, he is back in the office helping with administrative matters, and he has also agreed to speak at PWMI meetings again across the country including one in our region at Abergavenny.
Please pray also for Colin Le Noury's wife who was taken ill while on holiday in Guernsey recently. She was taken to hospital with breathing difficulties but was subsequently released and is now back at home in Leyland with Colin.

The Greatest Enemy To Christianity, Is In Our Midst
The greatest enemy to Christianity, is in our midst. And yet we are ignoring it.
We reap the fruits of Christendom, taste the sweet nectar of its sublime prose; we permit some of its teachings to nurture our weary souls, we let our eyes indulge themselves into the indescribable arts of its advancers, and we delight in the capacious contour of radiance which its ineffable beauties bring.
Yet we do not return to this eternal garden with our affection, but with our lethargy we refuse to walk upon its pathway, on which is carved the infinite ornaments of wisdom that ascend the soul to the eternal empyrean, and that leads to its capacious and refulgent meadows of the truest enlightenment. We pillage it with the sword of indifference, and burn it with the fires of heresy, and all the while we declare our own creed, and that is, that all religions and ideas are of equal value and benefit, without giving even the slightest consideration to the succinct words of God himself:
all they that hate me love death. –Proverbs 8:36
All those who hate God, desire the death of His children, and therefore one of the greatest enemies to humanity, is atheism.
Today this artificial creed has been masqueraded with with fanciful terms such as “reason,” “rationalism,” and “science.” But all of theses are but facades to hide the true intentions of the militant atheists: tyranny.
The advancers of atheism claim they desire freedom, but like Cain, as soon as they can convince us to walk beside them in the fields of their perfidious doctrine, they will slaughter the people of God without hesitation, only to look up towards their Creator and say with callous voice, “Am I my brother’s keeper?”
The dangerous consequences of atheism are found in that most neglected subject: history, and it is in the annals of mankind’s story where we will find the results of this destructive religion.
This is why it is vital that you see the coming film, Martyred in the USSR: Militant Atheism in the former Soviet Union. It is a very well made documentary on what evils were done to Christians in Communist Russia, where an atheist elite organized the deaths of millions of Christians.
The maker of the film, Kevin Gonzalez, explained the purpose of the film:
It is our hope that individuals can learn from the history of the persecution of believers in the USSR and therefore, recognize the harm of a new militant atheist movement today, which promotes the mockery of the religious and the believes they hold sacred.
You might think that atheism is harmless. But ask yourself, how many Christians were butchered under the Atheist regime in Russia?

This is a holocaust that has not received its deserved attention. It is virtually unknown. The liberals don’t want you to see it, and the Atheists definitely do not want you to see it. The movie will expose the true desire of militant Atheism, and it will do so through historic facts and footage that you need to see.
In Atheist Russia, church property was seized, and school education was made to indoctrinate students on the superiority of Atheism. This is exactly what the Left wants in America, and they will only succeed with an uneducated society. For years I have been involved with a rescue team called, Rescue Christians; we literally take Christians who are being persecuted in Pakistan, Syria, and Iraq, and bring them into safe havens and even into other countries, so that they may be liberated from their Islamic oppressors.
I have heard countless stories of what jihadists do to Christians on a daily basis, and so I have dedicated my life to fighting evil ideologies that are bent on killing Christians and establishing tyranny. I know, from reading history and observing what happens today, that next to Islamism, Atheism is the greatest enemy to Christianity.

THIRTY ONE FACTS AND HERESIES REGARDING "THE WORD OF FAITH MOVEMENT" AND A GOOD TESTIMONY BY JOHN EDWARDS, A FORMER TEACHER OF THIS FALSE SECT!
My name is John Edwards, and I was a Faith Preacher for ten years and one month. My wife and I attended and graduated from the premiere word of faith seminary in the world. During school I had the opportunity of working for some of the most famous names in the word of faith movement.
We both graduated from school and returned to the Birmingham area and started a charismatic word of faith church in our living room. We had four people at our first service and took up a $300 offering. Over the years, we moved our church to several locations before building our first building on 18 acres of land in Clay, Alabama. Our church had around 300 active members although less than a hundred would attend on any given Sunday. Over all we estimate that we had at least 2,000 members come and go over that ten year period if not more. Charismatic churches we found have extremely high turn over. It was my observation that we would often attract people that had been church members at just about every other charismatic church in town.
I never really liked pastoring because of the politics and constant drama that went on. I loved to teach, visit with people in the hospital, and do the actual work of the ministry, but I hated all the other stuff that goes with it. I stayed frustrated, depressed and I was always discouraged.
As a word of faith Christian, I did all the things that the word of faith teaches. I confessed the Word. I talked in line with the Word. I called things that be not as though they were. I had written out “My Vision” and confessed it out loud almost everyday, all fourteen pages of it. I prayed in tongues for hours. I read books and listened to hundreds, if not to thousands of Cd’s by the prominent word of faith teachers. I went to seminars, revivals, classes and to all sorts of healing meetings, increase meetings, Holy Ghost meetings, Holy laughter meetings and even to numerous early morning prayer meetings.
It was a tradition at our church to meet at four in the morning to pray for two hours. For many years I prayed, believed and confessed miracles, signs and wonders for our ministry. But not much happened along those lines. In fact, I buried a lot of people over those years, including my daughter that died of a brain tumor at the age of fourteen. I was constantly perplexed that the message of faith and healing that I was preaching did not seem to work in the lives of the congregation. It seemed like we had all of the same experiences, trials and tribulations as the other church folks around town. I was for sure that there should be a clear distinction between the people of the Word and the denominational people. We had revelation knowledge of the Word. We had a leg up on the Body of Christ.
We had the Holy Ghost, prayed in tongues and most of all we had the word of faith message that was full of God’s victory, prosperity and healing power. But there was really no difference between us and them. By them, I am referring to the Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, and Assembly of God churches that we as word of faith people thought were missing out. I mocked their teachings and beliefs for years. I learned it from my word of faith teachers and peers. I continued the tradition.
About a year and a half ago and good friend from Tulsa sent me a CD teaching on pride. I hated it. It really bothered me a lot and got me to thinking and praying which is sometimes a dangerous thing to do! I had ministry business to attend to in Indianapolis and in Michigan, so I must have listened to that Cd a dozen times. It convicted me of self. It convicted me of pride. It opened my eyes to some of my motives. More than anything, it revealed to me that I had an enormous ego that could never, ever be content.

I went to seminars, revivals, classes and to all sorts of healing meetings, increase meetings, Holy Ghost meetings, Holy laughter meetings and even to numerous early morning prayer meetings.
It was a tradition at our church to meet at four in the morning to pray for two hours. For many years I prayed, believed and confessed miracles, signs and wonders for our ministry. But not much happened along those lines. In fact, I buried a lot of people over those years, including my daughter that died of a brain tumor at the age of fourteen. I was constantly perplexed that the message of faith and healing that I was preaching did not seem to work in the lives of the congregation. It seemed like we had all of the same experiences, trials and tribulations as the other church folks around town. I was for sure that there should be a clear distinction between the people of the Word and the denominational people. We had revelation knowledge of the Word. We had a leg up on the Body of Christ.
We had the Holy Ghost, prayed in tongues and most of all we had the word of faith message that was full of God’s victory, prosperity and healing power. But there was really no difference between us and them. By them, I am referring to the Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, and Assembly of God churches that we as word of faith people thought were missing out. I mocked their teachings and beliefs for years. I learned it from my word of faith teachers and peers. I continued the tradition.
About a year and a half ago and good friend from Tulsa sent me a CD teaching on pride. I hated it. It really bothered me a lot and got me to thinking and praying which is sometimes a dangerous thing to do! I had ministry business to attend to in Indianapolis and in Michigan, so I must have listened to that Cd a dozen times. It convicted me of self. It convicted me of pride. It opened my eyes to some of my motives. More than anything, it revealed to me that I had an enormous ego that could never, ever be content.

SWINDON, NEWPORT AND CALDICOT SPRING BACK INTO PROPHETIC ACTION NEXT MONTH, WITH ALL OF OUR BRANCHES TO FOLLOW SUIT IN THE UPCOMING MONTHS.

Well the Christmas and New Year festivities are behind us now, and we can turn our attentions to more spiritual matters from now on. If you take a look in the right hand column of this blog, you will notice that most of our prophecy branches are springing back into action in February and the following months.
The first branch to take the plunge is Tony McLellan's SWINDON group on Tuesday February 4th when they have the splendid Pastor Jon Ikin from Bath, who is also a council member of the national PWMI. He will be speaking on "End Time Cycles, And How History Will Repeat Itself" based on 2 Peter 2:1-9.
The following week at "The Upper Room" in NEWPORT we have the dynamic and inspirational Jacob Prasch from Moriel Ministries coming to teach on Sunday the 9th February at 6pm.
Jacob will be enjoying an extended weekend in South Wales, as he will also be ministering at The Church Of The Redeemer in Swansea on Sat the 8th Feb at both 5pm and 7pm, and again on the Sunday morning at 11am (please contact Pastor Jason Reese on 01792 774945 for more details).
After this we have the CALDICOT branch meeting on Friday February 28th when they have the Rev Byron Jones from Herefordshire ministering, who is another council member of the national PWMI.
The full addresses of these venues can be found in the right hand column opposite, and you will also see there various other upcoming meetings at Swansea, Ebbw Vale, Bristol, and Abergavenny.
PRAYER UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that PAUL WILKINSON is making excellent progress from his horrific bicycle accident last year, and such is the tenacity of this brave young man, that he was determined to return to the pulpit before he should have.
He has already undertaken an arduous trip to Texas in the USA, when perhaps he went against medical advice, he is back in the office helping with administrative matters, and he has also agreed to speak at PWMI meetings again across the country including one in our region at Abergavenny.
Please pray also for Colin Le Noury's wife who was taken ill while on holiday in Guernsey recently. She was taken to hospital with breathing difficulties but was subsequently released and is now back at home in Leyland with Colin.

"LIES, BIGOTRY AND SILENCE: BRITAIN'S PERMANENT STAIN" BY THE INSPIRATIONAL MELANIE PHILLIPS!
British Jews who care about this sort of thing have had the disturbing experience of observing not one but three examples of public, home-grown anti-Jewish bigotry over the past few days.First off the block was the former labour Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, who in an article in the Independent repeated not only his inexplicable belief that his idol, Iran’s President Rouhani, was ushering in a new world order of peace and harmony, but also that the benighted Israelis were buying up Washington in order to frustrate this nirvana (I paraphrase, but you get the general idea).
The idea that there is something sinister about Israel’s desperate attempt to prevent Iran from hoodwinking the west to achieve nuclear breakout is, of course, as perverse as it is offensive. But the suggestion that Israel pays American lawmakers to take their marching orders from Jerusalem repeats the ancient libel of covert and malign Jewish power, expressed by Straw even more clearly last year when he claimed that ‘unlimited Jewish funds’ were being used to ‘control and divert’ US policy in the Middle East.
Now look also at this cartoon in the current Economist, spotted by the Commentator,which represents Obama being prevented from reaching out to Iran by his shackles to a shield depicting the American eagle framed by Stars of David among the stars of the union. The Economist is thus repeating the malicious lie that the Jews control America.
And now look at what Labour MP Grahame Morris tweeted, apparently with reference to an Israeli flag visible at what looks like some kind of demonstration:
‘Nazis in my village do you see the flag they fly’
thus corresponding to the European Forum on Anti-Semitism’s Working Definitionwhich states that ‘Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis’ is a form of antisemitism.
The real problem here is not the existence of Jew-haters and Israel-bashers. It is the silence of everyone in a prominent position in the face of such vileness. As far as I can see, no politician from any political party slapped Straw down when he first talked about Jewish control of Washington, nor over his Independent article. No figure of authority, no mainstream newspaper has condemned Morris or the Economist – or if they have, it has been so sotto voce as to be inaudible.
Such audible silence suggests an absence of those who think there is anything beyond the pale in claiming sinister Jewish power, or likening Israel to the Nazis. It suggests a terrifying cultural shift: that Jew-hatred and Israel-bashing have now become acceptable and unremarkable contributions to legitimate national debate. It makes a whole society complicit in perpetrating such evil. That is what is so devastating.
This evil is not just the perpetration of outright bigotry by a few grievously misled or prejudiced folk. Examples now seem to occur almost every week in Britain. It is a positively deranged, obsessive, semi-hysterical general discourse about Israel and the Jews which is utterly irrational, indeed impervious to reason and evidence. It is a cultural phenomenon of incendiary incitement, to be ranked accordingly alongside the infamous eruptions of anti-Jewish hysteria down through the centuries.
It is thus a kind of cultural emergency, which in any normally functioning society would prompt decent politicians and other leaders to sound an alarm. They would denounce such a phenomenon in the strongest terms, exposing the outright lies and group libels on which it is based. But from British politicians and others, there is only silence. Silence in the face of home-grown bigotry; and silence in the face of the brazen denial of truth at the core of both the Arab war against Israel and the incitement fanning the flames of violence.
That fundamental truth is that the Jews alone are the rightful inheritors of what the Arabs call ‘Palestine’, since it is the Jewish people alone for whom the land of Israel was ever their national home, taken away from them by colonial invaders but in which nevertheless they never ceased to maintain a presence throughout the centuries of realoccupation.
That truth, the intrinsic Jewishness of Israel, was to have been the subject of an exhibition at UNESCO called ‘People, Book, Land — The 3,500 Year Relationship of the Jewish People to the Holy Land,’ due to have opened today. But last week, UNESCO suddenly ditched this exhibition on the remarkable grounds that
‘it could disrupt Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations’.
How could that possibly be the case? Simple: because, contrary to the west’s ludicrous obsession with ‘settlements’, the one and only reason for the war against Israel is the Arab desire to exterminate it. To achieve that, the Arabs must proclaim that they are the rightful inheritors of the land; and to support that, they must suppress altogether the actual historical truth of the unique Jewish presence in that land.
This was let slip by PLO official Riyad al-Maliki, who stated in Asharq al Awsat (h/tElder of Ziyon) that the most intractable issue was the requirement to accept that Israel is a Jewish state:
‘It would be dangerous to recognize this because this would mean our acceptance of the dissolution of our own history and ties and our historic right to Palestine. This is something that we will never accept under any circumstances.’
In other words, to accept the Jews’ history, the attested, demonstrable fact of their ancient sovereign nationhood in the land, would by definition destroy the Palestinian Arabs’ own ‘history’ – because that is not history at all but a lie, and a lie invented with the sole purpose of destroying the Jews’ acknowledged right to their own country.
If David Cameron, William Hague or any other UK politicians were to state such truths and denounce the falsehoods that are feeding the frenzy of bigotry and incitement against Israel and the Jews, they would start to drain these fetid swamps. But they are silent; the lies, hatred and bigotry consequently increase apace; and that silence will accordingly be for these leaders and for Britain a permanent stain.

In one of his less known statements the Rt Hon Enoch Powell, MP said that if Britain lost its respect for Christianity, it would eventually end up being forced to respect another religion. This premonition was largely overshadowed by his 'Rivers of Blood' speech, which I wrote about recently, but warrants closer examination as the gentleman was a visionary.
Since then homosexuality has gone from being a taboo to a celebration in our liberal country today. Tolerance has gone to promotion through media, show business, sex education at schools, 'gay bars', and promulgations in our institutions, to quote only a few examples. There has been a proliferation of sex shops, lap dancing clubs and abortion clinics. Christian assembly has gone from our schools and each passing Christmas has become more secularised.
As Songs of Praise continues to be watered down and street preachers get arrested for proclaiming the gospel, where are the Bishops?
Archbishop Welby can be heard praising the Pope, stating that Christians must change with the times, and wants the words 'sin' and 'repentance' removed from Christening rites.
Meanwhile Islam continues unchallenged with its expansionist agenda in Britain.
Going back several decades there were about 50 mosques in this country. Contrast this with a few thousand Islamic places of worship and learning centres today. Churches in the process have been sold to this religion of submission as Christianity abdicates.
Sharia Law courts in Britain with the tacit approval of Government are making medieval judgments incompatible with our legal system. Where muslims are even in the minority in an increasing number of schools, non muslims are required to eat halal meat. In some local councils during Ramadan where catering facilities are closed during the day, it's too bad on the 'infidel' members, yet this is officially defined as equality. In another anomaly muslims can claim benefits for up to four wives. The list of instances are numerous where Islam is taking over Britain, but the constraints of space stops me from giving more, suffice to say Enoch Powell was again right. Watch how Sharia Banking grows in the City this year.
The previous Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Williams said a few years ago that Sharia Law was inevitable in this country, or words to that effect.
Who needs Islamists forcing open the doors when liberal christians are opening up the windows?

"GAME ON - WHY IRAN GOADS THE GULLIBLE WEST" BY THE ALWAYS IMPRESSIVE MELANIE PHILLIPS.
One of the more notable characteristics of what we must surely call the world jihadi community is how proud – indeed, positively boastful – they are about their murderous intent. That’s presumably because they really do believe they are fulfilling a sacred mission. From Gaza to Mogadishu, from Ramallah to Tehran, those bent on holy war repeatedly announce their support for and encouragement of the defeat of the west, the murder of Jews and the destruction of Israel.Much, but by no means all, of this incendiary rhetoric is delivered in Arabic. Statements in English often comprise the emollient phrases of compromise and moderation which are a mandatory precondition of jihadi participation in talks with the west, and which accordingly are carefully crafted to exploit the fathomless gullibility of the cultural-suicide crowd.
We have heard this double-speak all the time from the terrorist godfathers of the ‘moderate’ PLO; we have heard it in spades from Iran’s President Rouhani and his foreign minister and chief negotiator at Geneva Mohammad Javad Zarif, whose own personal charm caused politicians and journalists alike to swoon.
The hallucinatory nature of the warmongers’ double-speak is matched in degree by the west’s double-think. Not only do its politicians and media take the jihadis’ charm offensive at face value but, more egregiously, they totally ignore the open expressions of incitement or aggression by such people even when they are spoken in plain English.
Examples of this by the Palestinian Authority abound, including the refusal to accept Israel as a Jewish state; the intention of ethnically cleansing a future Palestine state of Jews; the true purpose of such a state as a staging post to the ultimate elimination of Israel; the invention of an artificial Palestinian national identity in order to eliminate Israel; and so on.
None of these statements, whether spoken in English or Arabic – and not to mention the actual incitement to murder and terrorist outrages committed under the aegis of the PA or Fatah – causes the US, Britain or the EU to miss a beat in continuing to treat the PA and Fatah as ‘moderates’, and the Israelis as the true impediments to a peaceful solution.
And now this same western cartel of cant is plugging its ears to the most brazen and defiant display of aggression from Iran. As the terms of last November’s disastrous deal at Geneva start to be implemented, Rouhani has boasted that the deal means
‘the surrender of big powers before the great nation of Iran.’
This is no mere bombast aimed at bringing on board Iran’s hardliners (who in any eventseem to be rather pleased with the deal): it happens to be the demonstrable truth. The Geneva deal is allowing Iran’s rogue regime to continue to enrich uranium (and thus proceed to nuclear breakout capability) while enjoying a relaxation of sanctions.
And who should now come along to rub western noses in this even further, but Iran’s Foreign Minister Swoonerama himself. The soft-talking, moderate and charming Zarif has ostentatiously laid a wreath at the grave of Imad Mugniyeh, the fiendishly effective Hezbollah military commander who was responsible for the murders of countless Americans and other westerners at the behest of the Iranian regime – and to whom Iran has previously denied it ever had such ties.
Such gestures should obviously give pause for the most sober thought. It’s not simply what they tell us about Iran’s real intentions. It is the very deliberate and public way in which, as the west genuflects before it, Iran is choosing to tweak its nose. The regime seems to be going out of its way to announce that, whatever fairy tales the west may have told itself about that Geneva deal, as far as Iran is concerned its goal of mass murder and western conquest is now even more firmly on course.
And the intended audience for these boasts is unlikely to be the pathetic quislings of the west. Iran is much more likely to be sending a message to its infernal allies such as North Korea, as well as its terrorist cells and foot-soldiers placed strategically around the world.
That message is ‘game on’. This should chill us all. The west is now in far greater peril than ever before. And it is Barack Obama, David Cameron and Catherine Ashton who are to blame.
