The Soviet Union Possessed the Most Sophisticated Offensive Biological Weapons Program in Human History and They Weaponized the Plague
Pneumonic plague is extremely deadly and it is the only form of the plague that can spread from person to person. If it were to start spreading around the globe, the level of panic that we would witness would be off the charts. The death of a Russian scientist that worked at the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Institute is fueling a tremendous amount of speculation at the moment. But the Russians are now claiming that there was no lab accident and that nobody died of pneumonic plague. Hopefully that information is correct. U.S. experts are telling us that even if there is an outbreak of pneumonic plague, it wouldn’t become a global pandemic because we could easily treat those that get infected with common antibiotics. But what if a genetically-modified form of pneumonic plague that was weaponized by the Soviet Union starts spreading? Would our antibiotics work against that?
According to Wikipedia, the Soviet Union possessed “the world’s largest and most sophisticated known biological weapons program”. For years, dozens of highly sophisticated biological research facilities operated under the umbrella of a Soviet organization known as Biopreparat…
Does A Changing Culture Make Some Biblical Truth ‘Obsolete’? Nearly 1/3 Of Churchgoers Say ‘Yes’
Does culture make certain biblical truths obsolete?
Lifeway Research recently published a new study of American churchgoers (defined as those who attend church at least once a month), and the results were . . . puzzling. For example, 84% were either somewhat or very confident that if someone came to them expressing doubts about the truthfulness of Scripture, they could directly address those doubts. That seems like a great thing—over 8 in 10 Christians feel equipped to defend the faith!
But at the same time, 28% agreed (and 6% were unsure) that “as culture changes, some biblical truths become obsolete” and 34% said, “I accept some truths from the Bible, but others just don’t fit what I believe.” (The younger the churchgoer, the more likely they were to agree with these two statements).
