"THOSE WERE THE DAYS" A LOVELY SIMPLE LITTLE POEM REMINDING US OF THE GOOD POST-WAR TIMES BEFORE MORALS AND STANDARDS STARTED TO DROP DRAMATICALLY, AND BEFORE SATAN TOOK OVER!

Those WERE !! the days
I remember the cheese of my childhood,
And the bread that we cut with a knife.
When the children helped with the housework,
And the men went to work not the wife.

The cheese never needed a fridge,
And the bread was so crusty and hot.
The children were seldom unhappy,
And the wife was content with her lot.

I remember the milk from the bottle,
With the yummy cream on the top.
Our dinner came hot from the oven,
And not from the fridge in the shop.

The kids were a lot more contented,
They didn't need money for kicks.
Just a game with their mates in the road,
And sometimes the Saturday flicks.

I remember the shop on the corner,
Where a pen'orth of sweets was sold.
Do you think I'm a bit too nostalgic?
Or is it....I'm just getting old?

I remember the 'loo' was the lav
And the bogy man came in the night.
It wasn't the least bit funny
Going "out back" with no light.

The interesting items we perused
From the newspapers cut into squares,
And hung on a peg in the loo,
It took little to keep us amused.

The clothes were boiled in the copper,
With plenty of rich foamy suds.
But the ironing seemed never ending
As Mum pressed everyone's 'duds'.

I remember the slap on my backside,
And the taste of soap if I swore.
Anorexia and diets weren't heard of,
And we hadn't much choice what we wore.

Do you think that bruised our ego?
Or our initiative was destroyed?
We ate what was put on the table
And I think life was better enjoyed!!

"HE WALKED WITH GOD" BY CAMILLA SMITH FROM "RAPTURE READY".

He Walked with God
By Camilla Smith

This morning, while listening to a sermon about Heaven, our rewards in Heaven, our losses in Heaven, and our duties in Heaven, I began to feel quite inadequate. I went over in my mind the numbers of things, (substantial things) that I could ever remember really having done in genuine honor and self-sacrifice for the Lord. A number of small, paltry efforts came to mind. Then there are a few mediocre attempts to share Christ, and a couple flat out, put-it-out-there witnessing experiences. But really, in nearly 50 years, that’s it?
Although I am banking on the crown of righteousness (for longing for Jesus to call us “up hither”), I don’t see the great mounds of rewards heaping up for me. In other words, it probably won’t take long for my rewards to be rewarded.
I have been a believer since age 12 and I know that my salvation is set. I know that I am sealed by the Holy Spirit and I know that one day I will meet Jesus face to face. But am I ready for the BEMA seat?   Are any of us?

As Pastor Jeffress divulged details of what will happen at the judgment of Christians, he announced that, contrary to popular belief, there WILL be regret in Heaven. Regret for the things we could have done on earth to further the Kingdom. Regret for the opportunities we missed to share the gospel. Regret for the absence of sincerity and effort in the feeble attempts we may have made to do something pleasing to God.  Regret for doing the right things for the wrong reasons.
“Now if any man build upon this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;  Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is” (1 Corinthians 3:12-13).
I can tell you, this struck a chord.  But it was a chord that most definitely needed to be struck. I can think of about 15 years in my life that I floated along, secure in the promise that all I needed to do was believe that Jesus was God’s Son, that He lived a sinless life, and He died on the cross to pay for my sin burden, and He rose again from the grave to reign with the Father. I also believed He was coming again, although for most of those 15 years, not totally aware of the actual progression of events that would take place, i.e., the Rapture, the Tribulation and the Second Coming. None of this was misguided at all, and Jesus Christ DID die to pay the price for our sin. Believing on Him IS the way to Heaven. But once you belong to God, your obedience is just beginning.

Probably some of you can relate, if not most of you. Maybe your time of “strolling” with the Lord or should I say drifting, with very little energy put forth, was just of short duration, or maybe it was much longer than my own. Whatever the case, we all have to look back with regret for the years we missed and the chances that were lost while we were living this thing called life, all the while forfeiting rewards in Heaven for our complacency.
Which leads me to one of my favorite personalities in the Bible. Not often talked about, but profoundly referred to by several notable writers of the Bible, with mention in the gospel of Luke, by the writer of Hebrews, and by Jude (half brother of Jesus), Enoch was a prophet. ENOCH WALKED WITH GOD. Enoch walked so closely with God, and God had such favor for Enoch, that God took him. That’s right. Gone. Raptured, in a sense. Now I ask you, just how incredible would that be? Can you imagine being SO LOVED and FAVORED by the Almighty that He just took you to be with Him one day? Now that is one special man. Can you even fathom what Enoch did to be so special to the Lord? Oh, I would love to know more details to that story.

Most likely, there is very little chance that any of us will be individually raptured for our great favor with God like Enoch was. Most likely there is very little chance that many of us have never even walked one-millionth as close to God as Enoch did. But what if we tried?
While I was in the process of working on this article, I downloaded a new CD onto my player and while walking the other day, appropriately, the song “Walk with Me, Lord” by Lynda Randle came on. The songwriter basically asked the Lord to walk with him on his daily struggles with life. What a great prayer that we should all pray endlessly.
Then it hit me; God IS walking with me--daily, incessantly, lovingly and eternally. But then I realized that maybe it is ME who is not walking with HIM! Could it be? Unfortunately, even in my daily walk with the Lord, I realize that I could be walking more closely with HIM—much more closely. And that changed my entire outlook on Enoch and his walk with God.  Why would God walk so closely to me if I am not seeking HIS face and HIS counsel and HIS will at every step of my journey? No doubt, God is much more of a presence in our lives when we earnestly invite Him to be.
Our own Rapture, as true believers in Jesus Christ, is very soon at hand. The events taking place in our world are like the last grains of sand filtering through an hourglass. Very, very soon, we who believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior will meet our King face to face. Some will be given great responsibility, authority and positions in the Millennial Kingdom.  Some, as Pastor Jeffress said, will “get in by the skin of their teeth.”

I do not want to squeak in the back door to Heaven. I want to come bounding through the gates and be greeted as a faithful servant who deserves to be there. But can we ever really deserve to be in Heaven?  No. There are multitudes who will deserve it much, much more than I. But only by God’s redeeming grace, can we enter through the gates of Heaven. Only by the sacrifice of God’s only Son, can we even hope to live and reign with Christ in His glory.
But here is the pinnacle of the story. We still may have time. We may only have a minutes or hours, but we may have a few years, even more. Whatever the case, it is time to get on our knees and plead with God to show us His will and give us the strength and courage to walk IN THAT will.
Enoch surely walked daily in the will of his Lord. One can only imagine the magnitude of Enoch’s devotion to God. There have been many, many believers over the centuries that have followed in the footsteps of the great apostles, disciples and prophets, but I do not know of any in modern times who have simply been “translated” as Enoch was. Although the Bible prophecy world has lost a great number of devoted scholars in recent years, and I like to think it is in preparation for their duties after the soon-coming Rapture. While many devout servants of God, going way back to Enoch, have been prematurely called to Heaven, their lives here on earth cut short, what a divine manifestation of reward for them must have been waiting!
And so, in the days we have left here, what can we do for the glory of God? Which areas in our lives need to be purged, purified and refined? What, as children of the Most High, can we do to step it up and work harder to please our Lord? And what, in your heart of hearts, would it take for you to know you have lived your life according to His purpose and plan and succeeded in a sojourn to eternity that is magnificent and pleasing in God’s sight?

I cannot wait to meet the prophets of old when we get to Heaven. Enoch’s life, even though we know very little about it, is a testament to the life we should all strive for—a life that is so pleasing to God, that when He does “take us,” we can be secure in the fact that we have done our best to merit our rewards in Heaven, great or small. And after all, our crowns will joyfully be cast at the feet of the One who died for us.
Why not give Jesus our undying devotion and service while we still have the chance? He gave US everything. Jesus DID pay it all. It is way past time to return the favor. Really, what could be more rewarding than walking hand in hand with God?  Pleasing Him should be our absolute obsession in these remaining days.

WHAT A GREAT DAY WE ALL HAD ON SATURDAY WHEN PASTOR STEVE LLOYD FROM THE BIBLE PROPHECY FOUNDATION GAVE TWO SUPERB POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS AT "TURF" IN CROSS KEYS.

Dear Friends,

What a great time we had in the Lord on Saturday when Pastor Steve Lloyd from the Cranfield Baptist Church in Bedfordshire, who is also Secretary of the Bible Prophecy Foundation, made the 360 mile round trip to speak to us at The Upper Room Fellowship (TURF) on behalf of the BPF and PWMI in CROSS KEYS.

Steve (who is pictured below) was led of the Lord for this conference, to speak on firstly "THE COMING FINANCIAL CRASH"  at 11am, and then secondly, after lunch he gave a very illuminating address on "NO SURRENDER", a fascinating talk on our roles in these perilous end times before Jesus Returns at The Rapture.

Numbers were down a little on recent conference levels, mainly because of the bad weather and holiday commitments, but there was certainly "quality" in abundance" if not total "quantity". People travelled from as far away as Swindon, Frome, Bridgend, and Cardiff to hear these great talks, which were recorded, and will soon be available for wider circulation.
Steve is pictured here in the white shirt at the back preparing to give one of his excellent talks.

The first talk was based on the "FINANCIAL CRASH" which many Bible Prophecy expositors and also secular Financiers are predicting will happen later this year, or maybe in 2015.  Taking us through passages in Revelation and James, Pastor Steve prophesied this will definitely happen based on Scripture, and warned us to store up "our treasures in heaven" and not to seek our personal glory in money and fine possessions here on earth where the time is short before the Rapture.

He also warned that the world finances are in the hands of a select group  of global elitists, mentioning that these dominant characters have their fingerprints stamped all over it. The list he gave was almost endless, but some of the prominent names included people such as the Rothchilds, the Bilderbergers, the Illuminati, the tri-Lateral Commission, the Club of Rome, the Freemasons, "Agenda 21" and the imminent arrival of BITCOIN, which is a study in itself!

A SMALL SECTION OF THE GATHERING INCLUDING "JERRY THE FLUTE" ABOVE, WHO LED THE PRAISE AND WORSHIP BEFORE BOTH PRESENTATIONS.

The second talk was titled "NO SURRENDER" where Pastor Steve started off in the prophetic passages of Daniel chapters 2 and 3, but then proceeded to ask us whose tune we dance to today, particularly "church" members who seem to take anything on offer from the pulpit these days, whether it is real Christianity or not!

He compared us to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who refused to bow down to the tunes of Nebuchadnezzar's musicians from the flute, the lyre,  the horn, the zither, the pipes, and all kinds of music (Dan 3:5).  They were prepared to die rather than bow down to the "god" of their day, who is still very active in the world today in these latter times.

The tunes of today, however, include evolution, secularism, the gay agenda, abortion, euthanasia, human genetics, the denial of the deity of Christ, the rise of Islam, churches coming together to form CHRISLAM, the growing popularity of the false POPE and Catholicism in general, and many FALSE prophets such as Rick Warren, Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland etc on the so-called "Christian" scene. We are NOT to bow down to these Satanic tunes, and are to remain faithful to the Lord JESUS Christ, His Word, His Salvation, and His way for our lives in this ever increasing evil world.

He concluded his fascinating powerpoint presentation by warning us that as it was in the days of Lot and Noah (Matthew 24), so it will be again before JESUS RETURNS AT THE RAPTURE.  There could well be a re-appearance of the NEPHILIM, Satan's seed from the mixing of man's DNA when fallen angels produced an evil progeny from the devil by having sexual intercourse with the fair women of the earth (Genesis 6).   Scientists have already produced over 150 different human/animal hybrids to date, and they will not stop until "the god of this world" succeeds in his Satanic scenario.

Many thanks to Pastor Steve for two very powerful powerpoint presentations, which has us all enthralled, and also for the lively Q&A session which followed. Thanks also to Jerry for leading the praise and worship, and to John and Di for being fabulous hosts at their great home at TURF yet again. And do not forget to watch out for the recording of these two talks, for they are well worth listening to.

Maranatha Blessings,
Nev.

"WILL THE CHURCH GO THROUGH THE TRIBULATION" BY JOE CRUZMN.

New post on These Christian Times

Will the Church Go Through the Tribulation?

by joecruzmn
SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO AND OPINION:  Will the Church go through the Tribulation? 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5: 1-5, But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Notice verse 4 speaks of us not being in darkness. This is a sign of hope that we are not to be overtaken by the thief. Now as we continue to the next verse you will notice the “THEY” spoken of in the bible. (SCROLL DOWN FOR THE REST OF OPINION)
We Are Not To Experience Gods Wrath!
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For theythat sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. We are not appointed unto wrath my Christian brothers and sisters, but the THEY ARE and they are the ones hidden in caves on The Day of the Lord. The THEY are Kings of the earth, grat men, rich men, chief captains, mighty men, servant men, and free men who hid in caves on the day of Wrath of the Lamb!
Revelation Chapter 6: 15-17,  And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? Notice that in the Thessalonians verses and Revelation verse speak of the day of wrath. We are not appointed unto wrath. We have never been appointed unto wrath. The debate will rage on about the Rapture, but regardless of what happens scripture is clear we will not experience The Day of The Lord. It is A day of hopelessness and darkness that will reel the world to and fro. Just like Noah was saved during The Great Flood; you can count on God who gave us Jesus as our Ark to deliver us from the flood of his wrath. Oh what a glorious day it will be when we are snatched up I the air to meet the one who came and shined a light into the hearts of man.  Our tears will be wiped away as the “They” will experience a horrific day unlike anything the world has ever seen.  1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Thank you for visiting These Christian Times and God Bless You.

WARNING SIGNS WE ARE IN THE LAST DAYS: APOSTASY, GODLINESS, IMMORALITY, AND VIOLENCE: The Harbinger Has Fallen on our country as America Falls Into The Days Of Noah

SCROLL DOWN FOR NEWS AND VIDEOS: The warning signs are everywhere. We have slipped into a morass of sin that is leaving this country void of any spiritual life. In the last days perilous days shall come. 2 Timothy Chapter 3 1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. The love for this world’s pleasure has blinded us of the sinful nature that has entered into our lives each day. We fail to see what Sin is as its rips the soul from the land. The days of Noah are here and a flood of judgment is coming to America very soon. Thank you for visiting These Christian Times and God Bless You.
THE BLAZE: Is mankind evolving into a more peaceful and prosperous people – or are we on a path toward ever-increasing moral depravity, social chaos and destruction?
Answering that dichotomy depends on one’s worldview, but Christian author Jeff Kinley is in the latter camp, telling TheBlaze that he sees human beings continuously and perilously cutting God out of society.
“I look around my world and I think, ‘Wow, we’ve written God out of our own story here,’” Kinley recently said in an interview. “We’re content in living in our own lives.”
The author, who believes Noah, the flood and the ark unfolded as the Bible recounts, draws parallels between contemporary culture and the “pandemic godlessness of the earth” during Noah’s in his new book “As It Was in the Days of Noah.”

WND: At the National Day of Prayer event held on Capitol Hill Thursday, Rabbi Jonathan Cahn issued a dire warning to America: The nation “stands in danger of impending judgment, and we all know it.”
“Too much of the church has lost its saltiness to do anything about it,” he declared. “And now the same biblical signs of national judgment that appeared in the last days of ancient Israel are reappearing on American soil.”
At the beginning of his commanding speech, Cahn, author of runaway bestseller, “The Harbinger,”and its movie companion “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment” from WND films, warned that his address would not be politically correct. "ABBAS HAS LEARNED FROM IRAN'S APPROACH TO THE WEST" BY THE HIGHLY RESPECTED MELANIE PHILLIPS.

Abbas has learned from Iran's approach to the west

Mad Hatter's tea-party
Has Mahmoud Abbas been taking instruction from Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of IranThe Palestinian president’s recent moves have been straight out of the Iranian playbook: make moderate noises and however ludicrous they may be, the West will be so desperate to avoid facing up to the reality of murderous extremism it will take them on face value.
Iran has been playing this to perfection. Its newish president, Hassan Rouhani, mouthed enough of the right platitudes to make people assume he was a terrific guy — even though Iran is still proceeding towards nuclear weapon breakout capability.

Abbas has understood what the Iranians grasped: that Washington will do anything to be seen to have achieved a deal. Consequently, the US will not act against him whatever he does, while it dumps on Israel instead.
So Abbas has behaved accordingly. His attitude to the Kerry negotiations was to say no to everything and wait for the US to blame Israel — over the “settlements”, of course, surely the most spectacular red herring ever to have swum in the fetid waters of diplomacy. The US duly obliged.
Then Abbas fatally undermined the negotiations by applying to join 15 international treaties in order to get spurious recognition for “Palestine”.

Finally, he destroyed the negotiations altogether by making a pact with Hamas. Even the Obama administration conceded it was probably asking a bit much of the Israelis to negotiate their country’s existence with a bunch of thugs pledged openly to annihilate it.
But Obama still blamed the Israelis as well as the Palestinians for being obstructive. Well, you can see his point: new houses on one side, genocide on the other. So, equally bad then.
Ah, said Abbas, but Hamas will recognise Israel, ratify all agreements and renounce violence. At which point the same type of folk who fawn over Rouhani proclaimed peace in our time and the beginning of the end of the Middle East conflict.

But it is beyond belief that Hamas, with its charter raving about destroying Israel and the Jews, is now ready to live in peace with Israel. And indeed Hamas itself says it’s bunk, with its leaders queueing up to say it would neither recognise Israel nor renounce violence.
Oh — and Abbas repeated he would not recognise Israel as a Jewish state. So he, too, wants Israel to disappear. What he recognises, in other words, is merely that Israel does exist, not that it should be allowed to exist.
No matter. The wishful thinkers are swooning over Abbas calling the Holocaust “the most heinous crime to have occurred against humanity in the modern era”. So what? He has acknowledged the Holocaust before. As he wrote in his doctoral thesis, he thinks the Jews helped perpetrate it.

And now he plans to form a government with people who want to bring about another one.
Sheikh Younis al-Astal heads Hamas’s Clerics Association of Palestine. In 2008, al-Astal called for a mahraqa, or burning, of the Jews. The same year on Hamas TV another cleric, Muhsen Abu Ita, declared: “The annihilation of the Jews in Palestine is one of the most splendid blessings for Palestine.”
In fact, the Fatah/Hamas pact is unlikely to last. Abbas intends rather to use it to make mischief for Israel in the West by manipulating public opinion.
The proper US response would be to isolate the PA and bring this lethal farce to a close. Of course it will not. Abbas, like Iran, has understood that Washington is deserting the West’s friends and empowering its enemies. For allies against these evils, Israel must now look elsewhere.
