This is a great MUST WATCH video of a 12-year-old boy named Shane Sidas (sometimes referred to as Shea Encinas) in the United States, not the UK. The incident described does not relate to UK schools or their policies.
No pictures are available of him because of his age but he appears on many video clips such
as instagram, facebook, youtube and others Here is one of the links: https://youtube.com/watch?v=TkQzMKqmP58&si=CCKmXwMV4ZPo6Msa
Details of the Story
Location: The incident occurred in the Encinitas Union School District in California, USA.
- The Issue: Shane Sidas's school implemented a policy that included using a children's book, My Shadow Is Pink, to teach kindergarten students about gender identity, suggesting they could choose their gender based on feelings rather than biological sex.
- The Boy's Response: Sidas, who is a Christian, felt this policy went against his religious beliefs and that he was being forced to go against his faith by the school's curriculum. He and his family spoke up about their concerns.
- Consequences: After the family voiced their objections, Sidas and his brother faced bullying from other students, and the family claimed the school did nothing to stop it, treating them badly. This led the family to change schools and pursue legal action.
- Public Platform: Sidas gained national attention in the US and shared his testimony alongside President Donald Trump at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., where he spoke about his experience and his faith.
The "exposure" is part of a US-based discussion regarding religious freedom, parental rights, and public school curriculum content, particularly concerning gender ideology, and is not a UK matter.
