"Doormat Christianity Hits New Low" by Raymond Ibrahim

 There have been quite a number of shameless outbursts of Doormat Christianity of late. (I define this term as the conviction, shared by way too many Christians, that their faith begins and ends with them behaving like doormats for everyone—especially non-Christians—to wipe their feet on. The most obvious took place in Britain (yes, shocker).

On September 11, the Church of England presented an “interfaith” award to a Pakistani Muslim cleric who in 2007 publicly hailed bin Laden as “Saifullah” (Sword of Allah) for waging jihad against “infidels,” and who champions Pakistan’s blasphemy laws that enable the widespread persecution of Christians.

The “irony” only gets worse: the award that “Archbishop” Sarah Mullally bestowed on the Muslim cleric is named after a Crusader who fought alongside Richard the Lionheart in the Third Crusade.

Following the inevitable uproar, Mullally quietly revoked the prize without apology, leaving behind only the indelible image of herself—the “leader” of the Church of England—smiling beside the cleric who praised bin Laden and his niqab-clad wife, on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the day bin Laden orchestrated the murder of nearly 3,000 Americans.
