33,000 now confirmed dead following the Turkey and Syria earthquakes, yet the UN say that this number may still double!!

 UN warns quake toll may double as Assad under pressure over Syria aid

1. A week after the devastating earthquake hit Turkey and Syria, the number of people confirmed to have died has risen to more than 33,000
2. But the UN's aid agency on the ground is warning the final death toll from the quake is likely to be at least double that
3. The US government has called on Syria and all parties involved to immediately grant humanitarian access to all those in need across the country
   
   
   
4. The organisation's head of emergency relief operations, Martin Griffiths, has said the international community has failed the people of north-west Syria
5. The country's White Helmets group has also complained about the absence of global support in the region
6. Meanwhile, officials in Turkey say 113 arrest warrants have been issued in connection with the construction of buildings that collapsed in Monday's quake
