Hurricane Ian unleashed devastation on southwest Florida after a 6ft storm surge plowed through Fort Myers destroying houses as water engulfed two-story properties.
Pray for all the souls in the path of Hurricane Ian, it has hit the southwest coast of Florida much harder than anyone was anticipating. At 155 miles per hour, Hurricane Ian is a legitimate monster, swallowing everything in his path. I experienced Hurricane Matthew in 2017 as well as Hurricane Irma in 2018, but we on the east coast of Florida didn't see damage like the west coast is now seeing.

Hurricane Ian has only been at work for a few hours, and already the damage toll is at $45 billion and climbing, this could be the costliest disaster certainly in state history, but also in US storm history as well. That's how hard Ian is hitting, and he is on his way to where we are here in Saint Augustine. Please pray for everyone on the west coast of Florida and in Cuba, and pray for us here on the east coast. There will be no Bible study tonight, I am safely home and have no desire to venture outside.

It sees the 'unsurvivable' torrent of water engulf palm trees in the tropical resort and rip some from their roots as it was forced forwards by 155mph winds - only the fifth storm in history to hit land at that speed.
Fort Myers was one of the first cities to be battered by Ian, with apocalyptic images from after the initial surge showing homes decimated by its wrath as roads turned into rivers with the tsunami of floodwater.
