Decline of Christianity matters to British Jews, says head of Jewish policy research group
A decline in Christianity in Britain should be a concern to Jews, according to Jonathan Boyd, Executive Director of the Institute for Jewish Policy Research, and would have "huge implications to the country as a whole."

Writing in an opinion piece for the Jewish Chronicle, Boyd addressed the soon-to-be-released census figures that are expected to show a decline in Christianity in Britain. He writes that new challenges to British and Jewish life are coming, forged by an evolving national context and a declining Christian population, and explains why the Jewish community should be concerned.

Pastor returns Torah rescued from Kristallnacht after keeping it safe for decades


Parts of a Torah scroll hidden from the Nazis and kept secret for 80 years have finally been returned to a synagogue in Germany.

Retired Pastor Uwe Mader, 80, has returned four fragments of parchment to the synagogue in Görlitz in eastern Germany, after having protecting them for decades. “Now they are in good hands, no one will be careless with them,” said the pastor.
