Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.(Psalm 2:1-6)
The “Kings of the Earth and their rulers”, the so called movers and shakers, the ruling elite along with their experts in every field, (law, religion, ethics, political science,education, entertainment), have a controversy with the Most High God, “He who sits in the heavens”.
The controversy centers around Zion, a hill on a range of Mountains which includes the site of the city of Jerusalem, Mt Moriah where Abraham offered his son Isaac, and the Temple Mt, aka Mt Zion, the site of Solomon’s tamale and the site of the second temple built by Zerubbabel.
The Muslims regard it as their third holiest site, even though it is never mentioned by name in the Quran. Judaism regards it as her holiest site, being the supposed location of Solomon’s temple. The US secretary of State has adamantly declared that the Temple MT be off limits to Jews and Christians, and that only Muslims can pray there.
There is even a joint Jewish/Palestinian/Catholic plan to cede sovereignty of the Temple MT to the Vatican of Rome. From this ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS ARTICLE;
The Israeli government and the Vatican are deadlocked in discussions over the status of the religious sites. Vatican officials are now reiterating their demand for control over the religious sites in the ancient and holy city founded by King David as the capital of ancient Israel and now the capital of the reestablished Jewish state.
Danny Ayalon, Israel’s deputy foreign minister, declared that Israel might consider giving the Vatican “a greater role” in operating the sites. In the last weeks, the Roman Catholic Church’s authorities increased their political initiatives for Catholic control over some sites in Jerusalem.
The Vatican’s former arcibishop in Jerusalem, Michel Sabbah, just promoted an appeal to the European Union and United States to “stop the Hebraization of Jerusalem”.
The Kings of the Earth literally want to stop the Hebraization of Jerusalem. U.N. resolution 181 has decreed that Jerusalem shall be an international city.
The “Palestinian Authority”and the Jordanian Waqf, have been given custody of the Temple Mount, even after Moshe Dayan liberated East Jerusalem bringing it under Israeli governance, in 1967.
The Waqf has authorized the gutting of the land underneath the pavement where the Mosque of Omar and the Dome of the Rock sit, in order to build a massive Mosque complex into the Mountain. Tons of potentially priceless relics of early Jerusaelm and the previous temple are being scooped into dump trucks and hailed off as rubbish, where they are scavenged by archeologists at the dump sites.
The Muslim world also wants to “DeHebraize” Jerusalem and the temple Mount, seeking to eradicate any trace of Jewish history to perpetuate the commonly believed myth that Jerusalem has always been a “Muslim” city.
Muslims are very worried about any developments on the Temple MT. It is as though they know they have an illegitimate claim to it and could be evicted at any time.The modern ‘intifada’ which broke out in 2000, and led directly to 9-11, the Arab Spring and the horrifying mess we see in the Middle East today, began simply because Ariel Sharon led a delegation of Jews to take a walk on the Temple MT.
It seems that the whole world has an agenda for Jerusalem and the Holy Mountain, that differs radically from the one God has stated in the second Psalm, and other places.
God sees the lies, the duplicity, and the malice which animates the “World Community” in their attempt to de-legitimize Israel and erase her as a nation and people.
People do what they do for varying reasons.
Some people just hate the Jews.The Arab World has a name for the miraculous birth of Israel, they call what happened in May 1948, “Al Naqba”, ‘the disaster’.Many Christians hold the Jews in contempt because they erroneously believe that the church has replaced Israel and God is through with the Jews.The POPE literally wants to build a “Palace” on Mt Zion, a papal residence and seat of power.
Other enemies of Israel are pragmatic, in a cowardly and craven way. They imagine they can just sacrifice Israel, in the interest of appeasing the Muslim world and perhaps staving off the World War which seems imminent. “Let the Muslims have it all! Why do the JEWS have live in the midst of the Arab lands?”. In this kind of thinking all concessions are given to the Muslims, no matter what atrocities they commit, even though the JEWS pay the price for it.
By now we should realize that this hasn’t worked out too well. Do you remember (in our lifetime) when Islamic Terrorism was the Jew’s problem and not anyone else’s? God told Abraham”I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you…”.
There is a storm brewing, the” controversy of Zion” spoken of by Isaiah and all of the prophets, involving thee entire earth, which has one Agenda for Israel, Jerusalem and Mt Zion, and the God of the Bible who has hs own plans for Mt Zion.
The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the Lord hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea. And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness. For it is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion. And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch. It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.( Isaiah 34:6-11)
