| Church collapses in massive earthquake on Saturday |
Over 3,700 people have been killed in a massive earthquake registering 7.8 on the Richter scale that hit Nepal on Saturday (25 April). A further 6,500 people have been injured and thousands more have lost their homes in the quake. As rescue teams continue to plough through rubble from collapsed buildings in the search for survivors, there are rising fears of food and water shortages, as well as the spread of infectious diseases. Nepali Christians have asked for Barnabas Fund's help in this emergency. They are a marginalised and despised minority in this Hindu-majority nation, victims of violent attacks from Hindu extremists. They need clean water, food, shelter and emergency medical care. We are working with our church partners on the ground to provide this desperately needed aid for our Christian brothers and sisters who suffer – will you help us?
