Police Identify 18 Year Old Muslim Somali Refugee As Person Behind Ohio State Terror Attack This Morning by Tricky Dicky.  A Muslim man plowed his car into a crowd on the Ohio State University campus, then jumped out and started stabbing people with a butcher knife before being shot dead by police Monday morning, officials said. Nine people were taken to hospitals after the ambush, and one was in critical condition. The incident was initially reported as an "active shooter" situation, but the suspect did not shoot anyone. A police officer was on the scene within a minute and killed the assailant. "He engaged the suspect and eliminated the threat," OSU Police Chief Craig Stone said. The suspect's name was not released, but law enforcement officials told NBC News he was a Somali refugee who was a legal permanent resident of the United States. The motive was unknown, but officials said the attack was clearly deliberate and may have been planned in advance. "This was done on purpose," Stone said. A campus lockdown was lifted about 11:30 a.m., some 90 minutes after the violence unfolded on the Columbus, Ohio, campus, where 60,000 students are enrolled. "This car just swerved and ran into a whole group of people," said Nicole Kreinbrink, who was walking down the street when she saw the car hit people who had evacuated an academic building during a fire alarm. "All these people were running and screaming and yelling," she added. Jacob Bowers, an OSU sophomore, was sitting on a bench about 100 feet away when he noticed people running. "Then I heard someone yell, 'He's got a knife.' And I saw a guy with a big-ass knife just chasing people around. When I saw that, I grabbed all my stuff and started running," Bowers said. Bowers said he looked back to see a police officer on the scene. The officer yelled to the suspect, "Drop it and get down or I'll shoot," and then fired on the suspect, Bowers said. "The man was going insane," he said. An 18-year-old Muslim Somali man was behind an attack involving a car and butcher knife on the campus of Ohio State University Monday that left nine people injured, law enforcement sources told Fox News. Another student told NBC News he heard gunfire from his dorm room. "I heard gunshots from my dorm, probably six or seven," said Stephen Yunker, 18, a freshman who lives two blocks from Watts Hall, where the incident occurred. He said he and his roommate looked at each other, heard sirens about five seconds later, and then looked out the window. "We saw fire trucks, couple of cars, and a body laying on the ground," he said. The Columbus Fire Department said it transported 10 people to hospitals; nine were in stable condition and one was in critical condition. The campus was put on lockdown for 90 minutes after the university first reported an "active shooter" in the chaos of the moment. According to the Cambridge Dictionary, the expression, like a thief in the night means: "secretly or unexpectedly and without being seen." That sounds just about right to me as well. After all, why do thieves break into houses at night? Well, they're unlikely to be spotted at that time. People are asleep or not paying close attention. You might eventually end up hearing or even seeing the thief if he makes too much noise. But the idea is that he comes unexpectedly.

 

The Apostle Paul used the term in context to the Day of the Lord in 1 Thess 5:2. The thief in the night axiom is also linked to the pretribulational rapture and its imminent quality. It's the idea that Christ could come any time for His church. One of the champions of imminence was Gerald Stanton (Kept from the Hour). Non-pretribbers naturally disagree with Stanton's view that the rapture is imminent. They argue for "expectancy" rather than imminence. The idea of expectancy in the place of imminence has been promoted by posttribulationists such as George E. Ladd and Robert Gundry.

 

Doug Egsti's 36 page essay attempts responses to Stanton and other pretribulationists. He insists that some events need to occur before the rapture, although he doesn't get into the heart of the imminence verses. In one example, Egsti notes Arnold Fruchtenbaum's teaching that imminence is applicable only after 70 AD. Then he takes issue with the fact that Fruchtenbaum entertained the possibility that the seven churches of Revelation represented historical eras. How could the rapture then be imminent?

EDITOR'S NOTE: Remember all those interviews Obama gave bragging about how the nuclear treaty his administration negotiated with Iran "locked Iran" into "international scrutiny and control"? How he had all these things in place to "make sure Iran wouldn't have a nuclear weapon for 10 years"? On Thursday, a live, radioactive device was "stolen" from Iran's Bushehr Nuclear facility, and what "security measures" were activated as a result? None at all. They're not even talking about.  Aside from the security concerns, at the forefront in the GCC’s mind is what impact the radioactive device—wherever it may be today—could have on water supplies. According to the newspaper, the device went missing after the car transporting it was stolen. Thankfully, the vehicle was recovered, but the radioactive nuclear device was not so lucky. Iran's nuclear-powered era began on Obama's watch 6 years ago: The GCC has contacted the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over the incident—both organizations are concerned that Iran’s nuclear program may pollute the waters in the Gulf, Asharq al-Awsat quoted GCC Emergency Management Center chairman, Adnan al-Tamimi, as saying. Most members of the GCC – which includes Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman – desalinate sea water from the Gulf. If contamination from the device were to reach desalination stations, an already critical situation becomes even more critical. The missing device is set to lose half of its power after 74 days of inactivity, Tamimi said, noting that it still should be handled with care even after that period. Speaking to Asharq al-Awsat, the Arab official criticized Iran’s low security and safety levels at the Bushehr reactor, adding that the lack of Iranian transparency about its nuclear program adds further concerns and anxiousness for the Arab Gulf states. source
