•    Israel greets Palestinian UN action with 3,000 planned Jerusalem, West Bank homes
The Netanyahu government has approved 3,000 new apartments for Jerusalem and the West Bank in its first response for the Palestinian application for UN nonmember status which was approved Thursday. Planning will also be expedited for new Israeli housing in the “E1” area linking Jerusalem and Maaleh Adummim, where it will counter the Palestinian construction apace on the northeastern edge of Jerusalem. More projects are in the Israeli pipeline.

•    Iran threatens to quit NPT if attacked
Any attack on Iran's nuclear facilities may prompt its withdrawal from the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Ali Asghar Soltanieh, Iran's ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency, said.
Iran may also kick out IAEA inspectors and install its uranium enrichment centrifuges in "more secure" places. Israel's ambassador to the IAEA, Ehud Azoulay: "I believe that they are going to do it anyhow, in the near future…when they make their first nuclear explosion, so I'm not surprised.”
•    Mob assault on Gaza-Israel fence ends in one Palestinian death
Israeli soldiers facing a Palestinian mob rushing the Gaza border fence Saturday warned them to withdraw. When they kept coming, the soldiers started shooting at their legs. The Palestinians report that a man aged, 21, was killed and six others wounded.
•    US criticizes Israeli plan to build 3,000 homes
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Israel’s decision to build 3,000 more hosing units in Jerusalem and the West Bank “set back the cause of a negotiated peace.” The White House earlier described the plan as "counter-productive."
Addressing the Saban Forum in Washington, Clinton rejected Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman’s pessimism about the Palestinian Authority’s ability to govern and bring about a lasting peace. "Well, I think that should be tested," she said.
•    FM Lieberman: The Palestinians refuse to sign peace
Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman: "With settlements, we try not to provoke, but we have the right to define our capital, and settlement construction is part of our security. Settlements aren't an obstacle to peace, the opposite is true…  We need a comprehensive solution with the Palestinians, but it's up to the Palestinians… I saw Olmert's proposal in Annapolis, and Abbas refused to sign it.”

Bushehr’s near-explosion caused alarm in Tehran and Moscow
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report
01 Dec. Iran’s nuclear reactor at Bushehr was shut down in mid-October for fear of an explosion and 163 fuel rods removed. Saturday Dec. 1, an authoritative Russian nuclear industry source said, “Indicators showed that some small external parts were… in the [Bushehr] reactor vessel….” They were identified as “bolts beneath the fuel cells.” DEBKAfile: Russian experts estimated that a Bushehr explosion had the potential for causing a million Iranian deaths and hundreds of thousands of radiation victims in Iran and across the Persian Gulf emirates.  Our sources report that Monday, Nov. 26, Iranian and Russian engineers reloaded the fuel rods and reactivated the reactor.
Tehran for the first time in its twenty-year nuclear program showed concern about the impact of “nuclear accidents” at Iran’s nuclear sites on the population and environment.

•    Israel holds back cash transfers to Palestinian Authority
The Netanyahu government has blocked the monthly transfer of collected taxes to the Palestinian Authority as further punishment for Mahmoud Abbas’s application to the UN for nonmember status which was approved last Thursday. The NIS.460 million was earmarked for public sector wages. Finance Minister Yuval Steinetz said this amount would cover PA debts to the Israel Electric Corp.

•    Jerusalem: European pressure will not make Israel backtrack
The Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem released a statement Monday rejecting demands from certain European governments for Israel to reconsider its plans to build 3,000 housing units and develop the E-1 corridor. Israel will continue to stand by its vital interests. “If the Palestinians take more such steps, Israel will react accordingly.”
•    US steps up surveillance on Bushehr safety
Two days after DEBKAfile disclosed exclusively that Iran’s nuclear reactor at Bushehr was shut down in mid-October for fear of an explosion, the Wall Street Journal Monday quoted US officials as reporting that surveillance had been stepped up in alarm over activities at Bushehr, especially the removal of fuel rods from the plant in October. They were more concerned about safety at the reactor, for now, than about the prospect that Tehran will use the facility to develop atomic weapons.
•    Palestinian killed in axe attack on Israeli Shin Bet officers
Four Shin Bet officers were injured, one seriously, before one of them shot the Palestinian axe-wielder dead. The incident near Shavei Shomron on the West Bank began when a Palestinian vehicle crashed into an official jeep. As the Israeli officers extricated themselves from their damaged vehicle, the attacker jumped out of his car and set about them with his axe.
•    British UK denies drastic steps for Israel on settlements
The British, French and Swedish foreign ministries summoned Israeli ambassadors to complain about Israel’s expanded building plans in Jerusalem and West Bank. A spokesman for PM David Cameron denied he was weighing the drastic measures [reported by British Sky TV] of recalling the British ambassador from Israel or cancelling trade agreements. The French foreign minister also commented: “There are other ways to show disapproval of Israeli settlement plans other than recalling ambassadors.”
•    Putin due in Ankara. Russia takes over from Iran as Turkey’s main gas supplier
Russian President Vladimir Putin will spend one day in Ankara Monday to sign a huge deal for Russia to replace Iran as Turkey’s main supplier of natural gas. This transaction will boost trade between the two countries from $32 billion to $100 billion.

Getting prepared for Assad’s use of chemical weapons
DEBKAfile Special Report
03 Dec. US regional forces, Israel, Turkey and Jordan were braced for action Monday, Dec. 3 in case President Bashar Assad ordered his army’s chemical warfare units into action against rebel and civilian targets in his own country. Tthe White House spokesman hinted at possible US military reaction, and the three special US command centers in Turkey, Jordan and Israel for coordinating such operations are on the ready.
An American official told Wired Magazine that “engineers working for the Assad regime in Syria have begun combining the two chemical precursors needed to weaponize sarin gas.”
Anchored opposite the Syrian shore are the USS Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group and the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s naval task force – both with hundreds of marines on its decks.
DEBKAfile’s sources quote high-ranking officers in the Israel Defense Forces’ Northern Command as saying: “The coming hours and days are extremely critical for Syria. The situation on our northern front could blow up any moment.”

Iranian-Pakistani naval meet averted
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report
03 Dec. Iranian and Pakistani warships had planned a joint Red Sea drill to start Friday, Nov. 30 in Port Sudan. It was rumored in Khartoum that the Pakistani Shashmir carrying nuclear arms or nuclear-related equipment ready to had docked Thursday ready to meet two Iranian warships. At that point, Washington warned Tehran that the US-Iranian nuclear talks due to open Saturday, Dec. 1, would be called off, if this first ever joint drill between a Muslim nuclear power and a close nuclear candidate - one moreover taking place close to the shores of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Israel - went ahead. Tehran climbed down.

•    Cairo riot police fire tear gas, injure 10 protesters
Thousands marched on Mohamed Morsi’s presidential palace Tuesday night as a “final warning” against the draft constitution he approved for referendum on Dec. 15.  Riot police fired tear gas when they broke through the cordon around the palace injuring at least ten people, before they evacuated the president from the palace. In Tahrir Square, another 20,000 demonstrators protested against the Muslim Brotherhood-dominated constitution and its limitations on freedoms. Security forces have declared an emergency.
•    Israeli ambassador to Cairo summoned to foreign ministry
Ambassador Yaacok Amitai was handed a strong Egyptian government protest against Israel’s plans to expand Jerusalem and West Bank construction which were announced after the Palestinians were granted UN nonmember status.
•    Egypt’s top judicial body to oversee referendum
Egypt's Supreme Judicial Council has agreed to supervise a referendum called by President Mohamed Morsi for Dec. 15 to approve a controversial post-Mubarak constitution opposed by liberal, secular and Christian circles. The council’s decision has split the judiciary after some leading judges called for a boycott on the referendum.
•    Doubt cast on Tehran’s claimed capture of US drone over Gulf
US Navy’s 5th Fleet spokesman, Cmdr, Jason Salata said all US drones are fully accounted for after Iran claimed its Revolutionary Guards had captured an American ScanEagle drone in Iranian airspace.
•    US State Department criticizes Israel on E-1 area planning
After White House spokesman called for Israeli to reconsider housing expansion plans for the West Bank in response to the Palestinian upgrade to UN nonmember state as “counterproductive” to peace efforts, State Department spokesman Mark Toner said Monday night that planning for the E-1 area near Jerusalem was “especially damaging to peace efforts.”
DEBKAfile: The Palestinians say E-1’s location would make it impossible for them to form a state with viable borders and would block Arab access to East Jerusalem which they want as their capital.
Israel says Jewish construction in E-1 would not obstruct an independent Palestinian’s access to Jerusalem through Arab Abu Dis. A corridor at least 15 kilometers wide would connect the northern and southern parts of the West Bank. This is the width of central Israel between its Mediterranean coast and the West Bank border.

Assad’s chemical weapons units head north
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report
04 Dec. As NATO in Brussels gave the go-ahead for the deployment of Patriots in Turkey, DEBKAfile  reported Syrian army’s chemical weapons units heading out of Damascus under cover of dark and turning north up the road to Aleppo. They were ferrying self-propelled cannons and shells armed with poisonous sarin gas. Assad took advantage of the heavy winds, cloud and rain as elements liable to obstruct Western attacks on the convoys, while ignoring President Barack Obama’s warning of consequences if he or anyone in Syria resorted to chemical warfare. DEBKAfile’s military sources report that by the time the Patriots arrive in Turkey, the Syrian chemical weapons units will almost certainly be in their pre-planned positions. Furthermore, Patriot air defense systems are not designed to counter artillery and would therefore not be able to stop shells loaded with poison gas.

•    Five dead in increasingly violent anti-Morsi riots in Cairo
Five Egyptians were killed and many more injured in the escalating street clashes in Cairo around the presidential palace Wednesday night between opponents and supporters of President Mohamed Morsi. Gunfire, firebombs, rocks and beatings by sticks figured in the disturbance. Three members of Morsi’s advisory team quit to protest the violence. Opposition leader Mohamed ElBaradai said the protests and their handling by the Muslim Brotherhood ruling Egypt have ended the legitimacy of the incumbent regime.

USS Eisenhower opposite Syria
05 Dec. The USS Eisenhower Strike Group reached the Syrian coast Tuesday, Dec. 4 in a heavy storm after sailing through the Suez Canal from the Persian Gulf. Aboard are 8 fighter bomber squadrons of Air Wing Seven and 8,000 sailors, airmen and Marines. Together with the USS Iwo Jima, the US has now posted opposite Syria 70 fighter-bombers, 17 warships including three amphibious craft, a guided missile cruiser and 10 destroyers and frigates, and 10,000 American fighting men. Four vessels carry Aegis anti-missile weapons.
The US armada indicates that Washington stands ready for direct military intervention in the Syrian conflict. Tuesday night, NATO approved the deployment of Patriot missile batteries in Turkey.

Merkel says she and Netanyahu agreed to disagree on settlements
But we agree on other matters of concern to Israel’s security, said German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the end of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s visit to Berlin Thursday. He joined Hatnuah the new movement formed by former Foreign Secretary Tzipi Livni after the Kadima party deposed her as leader.
To join Livni’s outfit, Peretz gave up the second spot he won on the Labor slate in the party’s primary.

US: Sarin bombs ready for Assad’s “go” order
DEBKAfile Special Report
06 Dec. American officials said Wednesday, Dec. 4, that they believed bombs had been made ready with sarin gas, but not yet loaded onto fighter planes and Assad had not issued the “go” order.
In answer to US allegations, Syrian spokesmen reiterated that their government will not use chemical weapons against their own people. This statement leaves wide open the possible use of lethal gas against the countries support the Syrian rebels, such as Turkey and Jordan. And indeed, the Assad regime has in the past referred to “external enemies” as possible targets of chemical warfare, a locution that covers Israel.
Prime Minister Netanyahu had nothing to say about this but for: “We are watching the Syrian chemical weapons with concern.”

WILL THERE BE A PALESTINIAN STATE IN THE NEAR FUTURE? YES, ACCORDING TO THESE SCRIPTURES! WELL WORTH A READ.

index
Did you know the King James Bible gives us precise information regarding the “Palestinians” and their present quest for the land of Israel?  Some of you may recall I wrote on this nearly a year ago in the article “Palestinian Land?” but I believe it is important to again share this study, especially after last weeks UN vote in support of “Palestine”.
So will there eventually be a Palestinian state?  I do believe so because according to the Bible a Palestinian entity, referred to in prophetic Scripture as “Palestina” by Moses and Isaiah and as “Palestine” by Joel, will be in place just prior to the second coming of Jesus.  In fact, the creation of such a state could very well be the catalyst that sets the tribulation period in motion.
Exodus 15:14
The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.
Isaiah 14:29
Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent’s root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.
Isaiah 14:31
Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.
Joel 3:4
Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompence me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head;

Now most commentaries and scholars state that “Palestina” and “Palestine” in the above passages refer to “Philistia“ or the “Philistines” but is this correct?  Perhaps they say this because an entity called “Palestine” did not exist until sometime after 27 B.C. when Rome conquered the land of Israel and renamed it “Palestine” as a means of humiliating the Jews regarding their worst enemy, the Philistines.  Yet Isaiah spoke of “Palestina” when he ministered in Judah between 740 to 680 B.C., over six centuries earlier!  And Moses prophesied of “Palestina” much earlier than that!
So did these prophets of God mistakenly call Philistia by the name Palestine/Palestina or did the Holy Spirit in fact give them this very name so that we would recognize and understand what is now presently unfolding in the Middle East?
Further, the prophecies in these four verses were never fulfilled by the “Philistines“ however, when these passages are carefully studied in context, the only conclusion we are led to is that “Palestina” is prophetic only to the era just preceding the ultimate establishment of Israel in the land and the 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ from Jerusalem.
The following passage in Revelation also confirms a last days placement of these prophecies regarding “Palestina“ in that those who are saved during the time of tribulation will sing two songs of praise to God; the “song of the Lamb”, which is Salvation through Jesus Christ the Lamb of God and the “song of Moses”, which is deliverance from their enemy “Palestina“.

Revelation 15:2-3
2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
How do we know they are rejoicing because of deliverance from “Palestina” and other Muslim enemies?  The Song of Moses in Exodus tells us so!
Exodus 15:1-18
1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.
4 Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.
5 The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.
6 Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
7 And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble.
8 And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.
10 Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.
11 Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
12 Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.
13 Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.
14 The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.
15 Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.
16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.
17 Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established.
18 The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.

It helps to understand that the “Song of Moses” in the above passage is broken into two distinct parts.  Verses 1 through 13 are historical and recount the deliverance of Israel from Egypt, but verses 14 through 18 have not yet been totally fulfilled.  They are still futuristic and prophetic regarding the judgement of “Palestina” and the process of the permanent establishment of Israel in the Land of Canaan, culminating with the Lord Jesus Christ ruling and reigning over them forever.
I encourage you to study this further and you will see that everything the Bible tells us about “Palestina/Palestine” and their conquest for the land of Israel is now racing full speed ahead towards fulfillment.  And it is happening exactly as the prophets recorded for us in the Bible as they were impressed upon by the Holy Spirit of God so many years ago!
Can you now see how this Palestinian issue shows us how close we really are to the end of this age?  The enemies of Israel are plotting to bring about the complete destruction of the Jews and according to the Bible, they will relentlessly continue in this quest right up until the day Jesus returns with His church to fight for Israel and finally destroy all her enemies.
Until That Day…
Joel 3:1-17
1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
3 And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
4 Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompence me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head;
5 Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:
6 The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.
7 Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head:
8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.
12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.

THE WEEK AT A GLANCE WITH THE SPLENDID DEBKA REVIEW.

Summary of DEBKA Exclusives, November 30, 2012

November 23, 2012 Briefs:

Russian warships opposite Israel
DEBKAfile Special Report
23 Nov. The Black Sea Fleet's naval task force has been ordered to remain in the eastern Mediterranean ready to evacuate Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip. DEBKAfile: Moscow used the same pretext as Washington, readiness to evacuate nationals in an emergency, to account for the presence last week of the US Iwo Jima and two other warships in the east Mediterranean. Both flotillas are in fact on standby for developments in the Syrian crisis. The Iwo Jima has since moved quietly into waters off Syria.

Obama’s pledge of US troops to Sinai next week won Israel’s nod for ceasefire
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report
23 Nov. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu agreed to a ceasefire for halting the eight-day Israeli Gaza operation Wednesday night, Nov. 21, after President Barack Obama personally pledged to start deploying US troops in Egyptian Sinai next week. President Morsi had consented to the incoming troops going into immediate action against the Iranian smuggling networks before Hamas and Jihad Islami had a chance to replenish their arsenals. This means that the Gaza blockade is extended and the focus of combat moves from Gaza to Sinai.
US security and civilian units will need to be deployed in Egyptian Sinai to man the fence system planned for Suez and operate it as an active counter-measure for obstructing the smuggling of Iranian weapons supplies.
This development is strategically significant.  President Morsi, by opening the Sinai door to an American troop deployment for Israel’s defense, recognizes that the US force also insures Israel against Cairo revoking or failing to honor the peace treaty Egypt signed with Israel in 1979.

November 24, 2012 Briefs:

•    Israel eases restrictions on Gaza
Gaza residents said Saturday that Israel has eased some border restrictions as part of its truce with the Palestinian territory's Hamas rulers, allowing Palestinian farmers to visit land near its security fence and letting fishermen head further out to sea. They report Israeli soldiers watched the framers without interfering. Before the Pillar of Cloud operation, Palestinians were restricted to 300 meters from the border. Fishermen can now fish up to a 6 sea mile radius from the shore instead of three.
•    Iranian Speaker Larijani in Damascus, next to Beirut, Ankara
Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani met Bashar Assad upon landing in Damascus Friday. He travels next to Beirut for a conference with Hizballah’s leader Hassan Nasrallah, then on to the Turkish capital. DEBKAfile: Larijani ranks as the second most powerful man in Tehran today after Supreme Leader Khamenei and frontrunner as Iran’s next president.
•    Egyptian judges and prosecutors suspend work
Egypt’s most senior judges condemn President Mohamed Morsi for granting himself sweeping new powers calling them an unprecedented assault on the independence of the judiciary. The supreme judicial council said work would be suspended in all courts and prosecution offices until the decree passed by the president earlier this week was reversed.
Leftist, Liberal, socialist parties and others call on their followers to march to Tahrir Square Tuesday with the aim of "toppling the fascist, despotic constitutional declaration" issued by President Morsi on Thursday.
•    Army group backs anti-Morsi protest
A group calling itself “Officers of the Egyptian Army” scattered leaflets among the protesters against President Mohamed Morsi’s assumption of sweeping powers, saying: "We are not seeking positions or a revolt against legitimacy. We swore to protect the homeland with our lives. Now the legitimacy is on your side." DEBKAfile: This sort of language recalls modern Egypt’s proclivity to military putsch.

November 25, 2012 Briefs:

•    Second round of Golan fire from Syria
Gunshots whizzed past by an IDF vehicle Sunday night on the Golan, without causing damage or casualties after heavy machine gun fire was earlier reported near the fence of Alonei Bashan. Israel did not return the fire.
•    Nasrallah: Our first priority is combating the US-Zionist threat
Hizballah leader Hassan Nasrallah warned Sunday: “A battle with Lebanon will reach the whole of Israel.” He added: “Anyone in the Arab world presenting Israel as a friend and Iran as an enemy is serving Israel.
•    Gen. Gantz expects Gaza ceasefire to hold up
Israel’s chief of staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz said he expected calm on the Gaza border to hold up -”and if not, we’ll resume operations at any level needed.” Speaking to new IDF armored corps recruits Sunday, the general was confident that Israel’s deterrent strength would stand the test of time.
•    Salafists blow up Egyptian Rafah intelligence HQ
The explosion destroyed part of the Egyptian intelligence building overnight in the Rafah which is divided between Egypt and the Gaza Strip in northern Sinai. A news blackout has been imposed on information about the incident including casualties. DEBKAfile: Egyptian forces have been unable to protect their own facilities in Sinai, much less control arms smuggling in to the Gaza Strip.

Middle East at peak tension after Gaza operation
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report
25 Nov. Even before the Gaza conflict was over, the next major steps were in motion: The deployment of US-manned Patriots and Awacs in Turkey on the Syrian border was approved; Moscow moved its Black Sea Fleet’s naval task force opposite Gaza/Israeli shores, joining Tehran’s concern that the US-led coalition which wrecked Iran’s “southern front” in Gaza would turn against Syria and Hizballah. The US and Israel are braced for violent Iranian retribution; while Egyptian President Morsi’s troubles could undo the fragile Gaza ceasefire.

November 26, 2012 Briefs:

•    Likud primary draws up slate for general election
Education Minister Gideon Saar and Environmental Protection Minister Gilad Erdan top the Likud Knesset list after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
Next came cabinet member Silvan Shalom and the settlement leader Danny Danon followed by Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin, Deputy PM Moshe Yaalon and MKs, Ze'ev Elkin, Yariv Levin, Yuli Edelstein and Haim Katz.
Two women lawmakers Tzipi Hotovely and Miri Regev, made it to the second ten followed by the far-right Moshe Feiglin, who won his first Knesset seat.
Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz came further down with Tzachi Hanegbi and Sports Minister Limor Livnat.
Party veterans, Benny Begin and Dan Meridor fell off the list as did Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter.
The Likud Knesset slate will be diluted by the joint ticket pact signed with Israeli Beitenu, whose leader Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman is placed number two after the prime minister. Other members will be slotted further down the Likud list.  Israel holds a general election on Jan. 22, 2013.
•    Palestinian breaches Gaza fence, attacks Israeli woman
The woman was alone with her four children at home in Moshav Sdeh Avraham close to the Gaza border, when a Palestinian cut through the border fence and tried to knife her. She fought back and put him to flight.
DEBKAfile reports the Palestinian was enabled to cut through the fence by the easing of Israeli restrictions on Palestinian movements up to the Gaza-Israel border in the wake of the Nov. 21 ceasefire. Military sources say that the new rules are a recipe for more terrorist attacks and attempts to kidnap Israeli soldiers.
Three Iranian missile experts in Gaza after ceasefire
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report
26 Nov. DEBKAfile intelligence sources learn that Saturday, Nov. 24, just three days after the Gaza ceasefire, three Iranian missile engineers managed to steal into the Gaza Strip. They reached Gaza from their Lebanese base on false passports through Sinai and one of the smuggling tunnels blasted in the Israeli operation and repaired by Hamas. Three more are on the way.
They are the first Iranian military personnel to land in the Gaza Strip, arriving from their regular base in Lebanon to assess the performance of the Fajr-3 and Fajr-5 supplied by Tehran which Hamas fired against Israeli targets up to and during the Israeli operation. They came to assess their accuracy and their weaknesses against Israel’s Iron Dome anti-rocket system.

Ehud Barak quits politics but stays in defense
DEBKAfile Special Report
26 Nov. Monday, Nov. 26, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said he was quitting political life after 47 years but stay in defense until the January 22, 2013 general election. DEBKAfile: His action ties in closely with President Barack Obama’s decision for direct US-Iranian nuclear talks and plans to bring Tehran to the table in a more amenable frame of mind. The Gaza operation was part of those plans. Should a major war erupt meanwhile with Iran and force a delay in voting, Barak would still be at his post.

Syrian rebels destroy Assad’s anti-Israel radar
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report
26 Nov. In a resounding blow to Bashar Assad’s army’s combat capabilities against external enemies, Syrian rebels destroyed his key electronic warning radar station facing Israel – M-1 – Monday, Nov. 26, DEBKAfile reports exclusively. This has blinded the two eyes which Syrian air, air defense and missile forces had trained on Israel and crippled, though not completely dismantled, their ability to go to war against Israel, Jordan or Saudi Arabia. Hizballah has lost its primary source of intelligence for an offensive against Israel.

November 27, 2012 Briefs:

•    Two Iranian warships to dock in Sudan Friday
The Sudanese Army announced Tuesday that two Iranian warships are scheduled to dock at Port Sudan on Nov. 30 and stay there fore three days “with military maritime cooperation.” The vessels will receive “fuel and other logistic materials” during their visit, said the Sudanese army spokesman.
•    Israel general: Gaza ceasefire holds six days
Southern Command OC Maj. Gen. Tal Rousso told reporters Tuesday: The ceasefire is holding surprisingly well. There is absolute quiet in the Gaza sector except for disorderly incidents - unlike anything we have seen after past operations. The change from before to after the operation is extreme and the deterrence level very high.
Israel is now working on more understandings with Hamas through Egyptian mediation, he said. Rousso referred to Palestinian attempts to breach the fence as disorders that will be dealt with. Our forces are under orders to keep them away from the fence and prevent trespassing, said the general. If necessary they may shoot low at the legs of offenders.
•    Police clash with Cairo protesters around US embassy
Protest against Morsi’s sweeping, autocratic decrees is gaining momentum in Cairo. Police clashed with hundreds of protesters in the streets around Tahrir Square and outside the US embassy, firing tear gas after being pelted with rocks. Ten opposition parties have scheduled a mass protest for Tuesday.

US-led NATO intervention begins in Syria war. Patriots in Turkey
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report
27 Nov. Tuesday, Nov. 27, the Middle East military spotlight swung around from Gaza to Syria with the start of US and NATO intervention. Without spelling this out, a game changer began unfolding with the site survey begun by a joint Turkish-NATO team for the deployment of Patriot Air and Missile Defense Systems, manned by American military teams, within days. DEBKAfile: Although billed for “defensive purposes,” the Patriots will in fact impede Syrian air bombardments over all of northern Syria, including the embattled towns of Aleppo and Homs.

November 28, 2012 Briefs:

•    Iran will continue enriching uranium
Fereydoun Abbasi-Davani, head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, declared uranium enrichment would continue “with intensity” and the number of centrifuges increase substantially this year.
•    Twin blasts kill 34 in Damascus
At least 29 people were killed and many injured by two car bomb explosions in the southeastern Damascus district of Jaramana Wednesday. The district is populated mainly by Druzes and Christians. The Syrian opposition coalition begins talks in Cairo for a transitional government.
•    Iran runs simulations of bomb triple the force of Hiroshima blast
Associated Press published a diagram showing part of a computer simulation series run by Iran which shows a bell curve peaking at just above 50 kilotons, reflecting the full force of the weapon modeled. The bomb dropped on Hiroshima at the end of WWII had the force of about 15 kilotons.

The Gaza Operation: Less a War than an Anti-Iran Coup
DEBKA Special Video
28 Nov. Israel’s eight-day Gaza operation was in fact a combined intelligence coup to snap the Iranian connection to Hamas and shut off its gateway to Cairo. It was masterminded by the Israeli, Turkish and Qatari heads of intelligence. The CIA was in close touch. The operation was Part One of US President Barack Obama’s overall plan, which is to harness the Arab Spring to key US objectives and also transform Hamas into the legitimate voice of the Palestinian people for which they still need grooming. His next stop after Gaza is Syria where matters are coming to a head.

November 29, 2012 Briefs:

•    Netanyahu: No Palestinian state without recognizing Israeli
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu repeated Thursday that the UN resolution [approving Palestinian nonmember status] changes nothing in practice. “No Palestinian state will come into being without recognizing Israel as the state of the Jewish people.
•    Israeli security alert for Palestinian disturbances
Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah activists plan to stir up Palestinian disturbances Friday in Jerusalem, on Temple Mount and along the West Bank-Israel demarcation lines in token of UN recognition of Palestinian nonmember status.

As Fatah fades, UN recognition of Palestine may eventually benefit Hamas
DEBKAfile Exclusive Analysis

29 Nov. Thursday night, Nov. 29, the UN General Assembly grants Palestine non-member observer status within the 1967 borders by majority vote. But to which Palestinian rule does it apply?  Abbas’s Fatah is fading, whereas the extremist Hamas in the Gaza Strip is a rising force. If it qualifies for a place in the Sunni Middle East grouping Egypt, Turkey and Qatar are building with US and Israeli approval, Hamas may become the beneficiary of the upgraded Palestinian status won by Abbas. Meanwhile that status and those borders are on the books.

YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THE SORT OF PEOPLE THE C OF E ARE ALLOWING INTO THEIR PULPITS AND PLACES OF LEADERSHIP!!

Anyone who saw the recent "The Vicar Academy" series on BBC television will not be surprised by the female Church of England vicar being interviwed in the link below.

Anything seems to be accepted in the C of E these days, as the TV series portrayed, and here is yet another example of one of their priests and clergy staff (who are employed to lead their parishioners into Christian practices and morality) living and preaching disgusting habits and lifestyles!

God help us if this is multiplied all over this fallen church. I think the words "I will spew you out of My mouth" from the Lord Jesus come to mind! (Nev).

REVIEW OF THE LAUNCH OF THE BIBLE PROPHECY FOUNDATION AT BLACKBURN LAST SATURDAY.

Hazel and I attended the official launch of the Bible Prophecy Foundation in Blackburn last Saturday, and I would like to include on this blog a short report of the day which I compiled in association with Brian Gemmell for publication on his blog. I would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Barry and Pauline Willan who offered us superb hospitality over the weekend. We had never met them before, but when "kindred spirits" meet, it feels like we have known them for years! (Nev).
The report reads as follows:

Dear Friends,

I would just like to offer you a brief summary of what happened at the first formal gathering of the BIBLE PROPHECY FOUNDATION, which took place on Saturday, the 24th November at the splendid Leamington Road Baptist Church in Blackburn, who offered their excellent facilities free of charge.

The meetings were a great time of fellowship for the one hundred and fifteen supporters who gathered from all parts of the country, including Scotland and Wales. The sense of the presence of the Lord was felt throughout the time together.

The Chairman of the BPF, my good friend David Hoyle opened up the time together and led the opening session, which included a statement of our aims and objectives, and our raison d'etre. His chairmanship was clear, but discrete, directing attention to the Lord Jesus and His imminent return. The worship was strong and anointed, being superbly led by musicians and our good friends from the Ainsdale Evangelical Church.

The evening session was well chaired by the treasurer of the BPF, Roy Cook from Blackburn, and I had the privilege of bringing the two ministerial messages. My first talk centered on the fallacy of the Mayan Calendar prediction that the world will end on December 21st, and how accusing fingers will be pointed at us when this dubious forecast prophecy fails, even though we never attempt to set dates or make false Biblical accusations. We need to stand firm in our stance on TRUE Bible prophesies and not be led astray by these false prophets!

In the evening meeting I tended to concentrate on the Scriptures themselves, rather than erroneous words from puny mankind, and I warned about the events happening in the world today, especially in the Middle East, which indicate very strongly that The Rapture of the Church to glory is very close at hand. The two sessions were well received by the body, and the day closed with a deep sense of gratitude to the Lord, and a tangible joy expressed by so many!

DVD's and CD's of the meetings will soon be available from David and Julie Boyden who were present to record the event to their usual very high standards. Their website can be found at www.twobytwoworship.com.

Kathleen, Gilly and I were very blessed personally by the lovely day in the presence of the Lord.
Maranatha Blessing To You All,
Brian.

GREAT STORY OF HOW A RADICAL ISLAMIST BECOMES AN ARDENT ZIONIST!!

Radical Islamist Turns Ardent Zionist: The Story Of Kasim Hafeez

By

By Fern Sidman – “On Thursday evening, November 15, an audience of several hundred people sat in rapt attention at Temple Israel on New York City’s Upper East Side, as they heard the compelling narrative of a most unusual man.
Kasim Hafeez, 28, is a British-born Muslim of Pakistani descent who was raised in an environment where he was taught that ‘Jews control the world, and Israel is at fault for just about everything.’ As many other young Muslims in the United Kingdom, he embraced the teachings of radical Islam and internalized the visceral hatred for Israel that is endemic to this philosophy.

Growing up in a home where his father praised Adolf Hitler (ym’sh) as a ‘brilliant man’ whose only shortcoming was that he ‘didn’t kill enough Jews,’ Kasim Hafeez was being groomed to be yet another virulent Israel basher, but this life trajectory was abruptly derailed when he decided to undertake some serious research on the political history of Israel. Today, the Nottingham-based university administrator addresses audiences around the globe about the epiphany of truth that changed his life, and his speeches are being sponsored by the premier North American pro-Israel student advocacy organization, StandWithUs.

PWMI LOCALLY CLOSES DOWN FOR THE CHRISTMAS PERIOD, BUT LOTS TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN THE NEW YEAR!

We all had a fabulous time at Nancy's marvellous old 17th century farmhouse in Bassaleg last Saturday when the very impressive and always up-to-date Dr Paul Wilkinson gave two excellent talks on "WHO CARES WHEN JESUS RETURNS?", followed by a very lively Q&A session, with the whole conference lasting nearly five very enjoyable hours (including some great fellowship)!

Paul is the youngest Council member of the PWMI, and as well as being the associate Pastor at the Hazelgrove Ministries in Stockport, he is a regular speaker at conferences in Israel (where he has just returned from Jerusalem), Europe, and America (where he is going this month).

One of the features of the Hazelgrove ministry is how many cd's, tapes, books, booklets, pamphlets, and songs they give out absolutely free of charge, as they attempt to spread the Word of God in these last days on earth in which we live. Needless to say, having ministered at Bristol on the Thursday, and Caldicot on the Friday, as well as at Newport on the Saturday, Paul's many cases of material and literature were empty at the end of his mini tour, which delighted him very much.

All of the local branches of the PWMI are now closing down until the new year, but there is already a good line up of visiting speakers booked for 2013, and among them you will find Paul Wilkinson again when he will be taking the meetings at Swindon on Feb 14th, and Swansea on March 9th.

The Pontypridd branch will be the first gathering to swing back into action in the new year on Jan 19th when they have the highly respected Pastor David Moore from Stoke, where he will speak on "WHY I BELIEVE IN A PRE-TRIBULATIONAL RAPTURE". This will be closely followed in February when Brian Gemmell from York, will be undertaking a mini tour of Merthyr, Pontypool, Bassaleg, and Newport from the 14th through to the 17th with his usual in-depth analysis of prophetic events, and an up to date understanding of the situation in the Middle East.

Caldicot have their first meeting on Feb 22nd with Bryan Sheldon, Newport follow on March 15th with Pastor Steve Lloyd from Bedford, and Bristol return to action on March 21st with Jon Ikin from Bath. For a full list of the speakers already booked through the Spring and the early Summer, please go to the top right hand side of this blog where you will find quite a long list!

Maranatha Blessings To You All, Neville.
