"THE KING OF THE NORTH AND THE KING OF THE SOUTH" BY PASTOR MIKE TAYLOR FROM "RAPTURE READY"!!

The King of the North, and the King of the South - by pastor Mike Taylor - www.churchofgod-usa.org

"And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over." Daniel 11:40

When you read the book of Daniel, it is just about as confusing as the prophecy written in Revelation. Many people have tried to take the prophesies of Daniel and explain them in a historical context and proclaim that the prophesies in Daniel have been fulfilled. Have they?

True enough, the angel Gabriel came to Daniel to explain his vision of what would happen to the Jewish people from that time forward. Daniel and his countryman had been exiled into Babylon for a prophesied 70 years and Daniel came to understand that time span during the preceding chapters of this most profound book of historical and future prophetic events that would take place "at the time of the end".

If you read Daniel in it's historical context, you get a time line of what happened when the Persian Empire fell to Alexander the Great and the subsequent splitting of his empire upon Alexander's untimely death into four distinct empires that were filled with intrigue and struggles for power. To get a complete understanding of the events that surrounded this power struggle between empires and for lack of space to detail with the historical events, I did a search and found a rather good time line of events that show the battle between these ancient powers before the birth of Jesus the Messiah, at this address:

The above address will give you a good history lesson, and even that writer understands that Daniel has a duality of prophecy for a future fulfillment "at the time of the end" as the opening scripture passage clearly shows. In past messages, I have explained what Daniel was told by Gabriel the ark angel would happen to the Jewish people from the time of the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem.

"24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times." Daniel 9:24-25

It has been clearly revealed in past commentaries that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a foal of a donkey, as prophesied, 483 years to the day of Daniel's prophecy, but would be cut off, not because of Himself:

26" And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. " Daniel 9:26

Daniel 9,10 and chapter 11 deal with all the historical events that led up to the revealing of the Messiah to Jerusalem and the people of the Covenant. But noting that Daniel is a book of also future events that will play  out at the "end of days" which is our time. What I aim to do with this message is examine a possible coming fulfillment of what this message wishes to deal with. Events in the Middle East are coming to pass, as if they were on steroids, as they are coming fast and furious and it almost takes your breath away at the speed of their arrival and it's hard to keep everything straight. Let us deal with what this message is titled "THE KING OF THE NORTH AND KING OF THE SOUTH" In future messages, I will take portions of Daniel's book given to him by God, that will point to what lies ahead for the world we live in. But first:

IDENTITY OF THE KING OF THE NORTH and SOUTH

For many thousands of years, the battle in the Middle East has been about conflict between ancient cousins and descendants of the patriarch Abraham. It's a historical fact based on scripture and historians who have written about the struggle between these ancient people beginning with Isaac and Ishmael. Down through the ages, the animosity has only grown stronger, as Islam became a parallel cult "religion" against the  true God of Israel with a false god, "allah" From it's beginning, Islam has been at war with everyone, even within it's own "religion" of Sunni and Shiite adherents to their brand of Islam. The struggle continues even into our modern time.

The civil war in Syria has brought the whole area of this part of the world to the danger of a larger all consuming conflict that could escalate into nuclear exchanges between these two camps of Islam. If the civil war was not bad enough, the vacuum that was created by our feckless POTUS has given an open door to a literal Russian invasion at the request of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad to prevent his overthrow by Syrian rebels.

THE ARAB SPRING?

This all started by the ill conceived interference by our "Idiot in Chief" that happens to occupy the Oval Office of the White House and some call the POTUS. In his haste to install "democracy" (or was it to promote a new Caliphate arising? Take your pick)  an Arab Spring developed that disposed of dictators that may have had lousy human rights histories, but at the same time, kept a lid on the warring nature of radical Islamic jihadists with visions of grandeur of a world-wide rule by Islam in a new Caliphate. Terrorism has risen to a disastrous level in the area and spreading to the rest of the world.

Back to the idiocy of our POTUS, further in lunacy, the man gave the arch enemy of the only democracy in the region, namely Israel, by giving Iran the green light to continue it's march to nuclear weapons. Oh, yes, we know all the bluster and grandiose of rhetoric that says that we have contained Iran and prevented this march to obtaining the bomb. But are other nations that see the rise of Iran as a possible regional superpower in the region buying this?  I'd say nobody is fooled, except some of the people who voted for the current POTUS. Many nations have counted on the USA for support and preventing the rise of a regional power and overturning their respective governments. Let's analyze what is going on in the area that is the cradle of civilization.

For  starters,  Iran is Shiite and is in direct opposition to the nations of Saudi Arabia and Egypt which are mostly Sunni. They have been in conflict since Mohammed died and a disagreement arose of who would lead Islam in the aftermath. But this conflict grows stronger, as the Arab nations can't rely on the USA anymore, as our "fearless" leader has abandoned a coherent foreign policy to deal with the problem out of incompetence, or out of sheer evil to promote everything Islamic. Point is, these nations don't trust us anymore and have taken the matter into their own hands.

It is reported in the Wall Street Journal, the following:

"Frustrated by the deadlock of the second round of Geneva 2 talks, Saudi Arabia has reportedly offered to supply the rebels with anti-aircraft missiles. Meanwhile Russia has accused the US of once again hijacking peace talks and pushing for regime change.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Russian-made antitank guided missiles and Chinese man-portable air-defense systems are up for grabs, already waiting in warehouses in Jordan and Turkey.

An Arab diplomat and several opposition figures with knowledge of the Saudi efforts have told WSJ that these supplies are likely to tip the battlefield scales, as the rebels will become capable of taking on the government's air power and destroying heavy armored vehicles." Make no mistake, if this comes to pass, Russia will feel threatened and obligated to invade and start a war with the offending countries that dare face off against Russia the wounded bear and it's leader, Mr. Macho man, Vladimir Putin.

EGYPT DRAWN INTO THE CONFLICT

Then there is Egypt and their worry over Iran's development of nuclear weapon capabilities, which they are searching for a diplomatic resolution. It may become evident to Egypt that Iran is out for Middle East control and dominance. Another caveat, add to the mixture the worries over the terrorist regime of ISIS, and it really gets complicated. The Saudi's, the Jordanians, and Egypt have teamed up to attack ISIS. They all know that ISIS wants to take over their countries. And they are keenly aware that there are already individual people and organized groups inside each of their countries who are affiliated with ISIS and with al Qaeda. The violence is growing and it is reaching critical mass. The only way to defeat ISIS or to defeat Iran is if the Arabs in the neighborhood actually work together. And now. They finally see these new threats as serious challenges to their very existence-and they are now planning on how to confront it.

Each of these countries fear Iran and ISIS as a legitimate threat to their survival,  even as ISIS is confronted by Iran for regional control. But each faction is just another slice of the evil Caliphate pie to control the area with their brand of Islam. Hence, the King of the South could be all Sunni Muslims that must push back against the regional hegemony of Iran and ISIS which are Shiite and the likely King of the North, or Shiite Muslim countries. ISIS itself and it's fighters are Sunni, but they use the tensions between the two factions of Islam to create a recruiting tool for themselves, and to further their plans for conquest of the region.

RUSSIA  AS MAGOG IN THE REGION
What worries most prophecy teachers, is the presence of Russia as a superpower that is backing the aspirations of Iran for control of the Middle East. But don't think that Russia doesn't have designs on control of the Middle East for  herself, by using Iran as a proxy, along with Hezbollah in Syria as bad-boy actors giving them more control while helping Iran at the same time. But in the end, who is in charge of the north? The answer is Russia is in control. Without Russian help, Syria would fall quickly. Without Russian aid and influence, Iran wouldn't have the support of the only superpower in the region and it's military might for backup or not to mention developing their nuclear arsenals. The kings of the South are worried and they are planning on attacking Syria, and Russia by extension, giving military aid and weapons while indirectly aiding the death of Russian solders and confronting their military might. This could blow up in everyone's faces if one false move happens and a regional war will bring Iran/Russia against the Arab powers in the south.

And as it was shown and prophesied in Daniel 11, who seems to be squeezed between these warring factions?.. Yep, tiny Israel who just wants to survive, is caught between a rock and a hard place. If and when regional war breaks out in the Middle East and the Northern Kings pushes against the Southern Kings, they have another thing in common with each other and it will draw Israel into the fighting because of proximity and Muslim hatred of the Jewish people...

As it was in the days of the defeat of the Syrian King Antiochus Epiphanes in his battle with the King of the South, Ptolemy IV and in his rage, he entered the Glorious Land and defiled the Temple that ended the sacrifices, so could the war between the king of the south and the king of the north give them the excuse and the convenience of attacking Israel to finally destroy her in one final crushing blow with a huge preponderous of  military hardware at their disposal. Will this usher in Ezekiel 38-39? I'm not saying it will...but with war raging in the Middle East between the two factions of Islam in the north and in the south, and having Russian firepower, what could prevent Russia using their proxies and the heat of war to capture a big prize of Israeli oil and gas exploration? To me, it seems like a no brainer for a regional superpower to use overwhelming force to invade a small country and take what is not theirs to take. Ezekiel 38:

"Son of man, prophesy against Gog and say: 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshek and Tubal. 2 I will turn you around and drag you along. I will bring you from the far north and send you against the mountains of Israel.3 Then I will strike your bow from your left hand and make your arrows drop from your right hand. 4 On the mountains of Israel you will fall, you and all your troops and the nations with you. I will give you as food to all kinds of carrion birds and to the wild animals. 5 You will fall in the open field, for I have spoken, declares the Sovereign Lord. 6 I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in safety in the coastlands, and they will know that I am the Lord."

I believe war is imminent and the USA can do nothing about it...Why? Because the POTUS (sic) has emaciated our military to the point that we can't intervene in any future war, and  a feckless leader with nothing but dovish aspirations, or an Islamic theology won't lift a finger to save Israel from a vast invasion....God will do it and we will stand back and just watch.  This vast invasion will be decimated with 80%+ falling on the mountains of Israel as food for the beast and fowls of the air.

If this comes to fruition and a war does happen soon in the surrounding countries that border Israel, and IF Russia and the Muslim allies choose to do so, according to God's will,  to invade Israel and are struck down by the hand of God on the mountains of Israel, then I am of the belief that we are knocking right up against a 7 year peace treaty that will be signed by Israel for "peace and security" and failing to understand they are making a pact with the devil . Who is the other signer of this peace treaty? Yes, my friend, the prophesied man of sin, the "Anti-Christ". Who is the man? I believe it could be a number of individuals alive right now, and we have explored several possibilities, but God said that we will never see the man revealed, but only have a good idea to the run-up to his the unveiling of his identity.

"6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." (II Thessalonian 2: 6-12)

Let's give a hypothetical analysis of what I'm trying to say and what I think the Word of God is telling us.
1.         The King of the South will come against the King of the North, possibly       sooner than we think.
2.         one or the other will be defeated in battle, as was shown in ancient times
3.         an evil thought will come into the leader of the Magog coalition, known as Gog...Russia? Putin?
4.         The coalition will be soundly defeated on the mountains of Israel by the      hand of God
5.         in it's aftermath, a peace treaty will be brought to bear, as Israel has            displayed warfare that     can only by deemed Divine in nature and the world      seeks a "peace treaty" with their God.
6.         The Anti-Christ will be revealed and the Tribulation will start for 7 years.
7.         Based on the Bible and it's explanation of what the Church will experience,           before the man of sin is revealed, the Church (the TRUE Church of the Living God) will be taken out of the way.

I'm reminded of what Isaiah had to say, when this actually happens:

"19Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
20Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
21For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain." (Isaiah 26:19-21)

Do you get an idea of the sudden explosion of what I just spoke of? Do you see that it could happen this year, or next year? When? Don't know, but it appears it could happen at any moment and you discover it on your evening news special report. Will the Middle East allow Iran to be the overwhelming controller of events in and surrounding other Muslim countries? Will conflict happen? The answer is no to the first question, and yes to the last....War is coming...it may be a run up to ezekiel 38-39, but the undeniable fact is that the Middle East is a putrid sore about to burst wide open and what comes out of her, only God can know the outcome of when and how.

Jesus could come at any moment, as the events of the Middle East, especially as related to Israel speak of the nearness of the hour. When war breaks out and a peace treaty is signed, and calamity all over the planet surplants the events in the Middle East with millions of people suddenly disappearing, will you remember these words and cry out for mercy and forgiveness? What stands in front of you now is 7 years of pure H-E-double hockey stick...one that none of you will probably survive....you'll either be saved through Tribulation and martyrdom, or damned to a devil's hell for all eternity...

The events get more solidified as time goes on...The actors on the foreign policy stage are in place...the coalitions and  opposing sides are in place. All it will take is a spark to ignite World War III starting in the Middle East. Don't want to experience such a dire prediction of death and suffering? Embrace this verse:
"For God so loved the  world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life". John 3:16

Believe that with all your heart and ask Jesus, the Son of God to come into your life, and you will miss the most horrifying time in all the history of mankind.
Revelation 3:10-11 "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown."

"KINGS AND PROPHETS" BY STEVE SCHMUTZER FROM "RAPTURE READY"!!

Kings and Prophets - By Steve Schmutzer -http://raptureready.com/soap2/schmutzer1.html

I believe God pays close attention to the ways of kings and prophets. There is a direct relationship between the moral condition of a nation and the choices of its political and spiritual leaders.

We seldom use the terms "kings" and "prophets" anymore, but these institutions of leadership still continue in God's eyes. The political office of "king" has been replaced by titles like "president" and "prime minister," and by institutions like the Congress, Senate, or Parliament. The spiritual office of "prophet" continues today in the roles of pastors, priests, ministers, and clergy.

In the Old Testament, God's people were familiar with both offices, and it was not uncommon that good prophets served the Jewish nation during the reign of bad kings. For example, the prophet Samuel served during the reign of Saul, Elijah served during Ahab, Jeremiah during Jehoiakim, and so on.

When the political leaders dropped the ball, the ministry of God's prophets kept spiritual accountability in the mix. As long as the prophets said and did what God told them to say and do, the national condition was never completely hopeless. Things could get really bad, and sometimes did-yet God's loyal prophets could prompt a carnal generation to turn completely around.

But the Scriptures show that kings of early history seldom tolerated being told their choices were wrong. Those who did tell them such things were killed. And so these kings were predictably surrounded by bootlickers: People who flattered them, appeased them, and let the kings have their way. I must say as I look around now, things haven't changed much. The human condition is now as it was then.

Those biblical conditions were perilous for anyone who dared to speak the truth, because unlike the ubiquitous "yes-men," the true prophets of God were never mindless acolytes. God's prophets embodied courage. They were the conscience of the nation. They said what needed to be said to whomever most needed to hear it - even if it was not "politically correct" to do so.

A story from the Bible that illustrates this tension is one featuring King Ahab. The King sought Elijah, and when he found him Ahab asked:

"Is that you, you troubler of Israel?" Ahab had a wide blind spot, so Elijah opened his eyes, "I have not made trouble for Israel, but you and your father's family have. You have abandoned the Lord's commands...." ( 1 Kings 18:17-18).

Elijah's words were straight to the point, but the medicine of truth is most effective when it's not sugared. Remarkably, Ahab repented (1 Kings 21:27).   Somewhere deep, buried under the layers of his pride and arrogance, Ahab knew Elijah was spot on. When a prophet responsibly declares the Word of God and divides right from wrong, good from bad, wisdom from foolishness, and truth from lies, the Holy Spirit will minister to proper effect-even to an arrogant and corrupt king.

It's also true that a plain declaration of God's Word can result in repentance from an entire group of people. Remember Ninevah? God granted His mercy and withheld His wrath when a clear message of pending judgment was responsibly delivered to the city. Again, the simple truth had profound effect. When things are said that should be said, it acts as a preserving agent.

But what happens when the king and his nation need to be confronted and be told they are no longer honoring God's commands, but the prophets do not do this? What happens when the prophets stay silent, look the other way, dilute the necessary message or even support the king's misconduct?

In other words, what becomes of a nation when its political and spiritual leaders are both woefully ineffective? It's not an encouraging picture, and regrettably I believe this is the picture that defines America today.

The prophetic voice that's most needed in this country right now is one that holds firm to the Word of God, one that boldly confronts sin, and one that ignores the suffocating tentacles of the PC police to "call a spade a spade." Political correctness is seldom a friend of sound doctrine, so placating those who predictably cry, "Foul!" is only guaranteed to dull the edge of the sword of the Spirit.

And this is important to consider because two alarming situations have developed for us: one from the kings and the other from the prophets. Kings lead by power and law since these things are necessary to preserve order in a society. But the kings have mishandled their power and ignored the rules. Order is now collapsing, and so is our civilized culture.

On the other hand, prophets lead by truth and example because these things are necessary to preserve God's standards. But the prophets have diluted the truth and eroded their calling. God's standards are disintegrating as entire bodies of believers now doubt the fundamentals of the faith.

However, forget the bad kings for a moment, because let's be honest here; ineffective kings have always been around, and it's categorically foolish to try to legislate our country's path to spiritual renewal. That's not where the spotlight should be. That's not the change that's most urgently needed.

The turnaround that's most needed in this country right now is from those within the church. To gain this, today's prophets must plainly declare the warnings of Scripture from the pulpit. They must confront sin by God's standards and not by the ideals of humanist agendas. They must teach what God's Word says and not what they wish it said.

They must deal with the entirety of the Bible and not just portions of it. They must give wide berth to the impotent themes of popular culture and emphasize instead the potency of unpopular truth. But, these things are hardly happening, and the net effect is the salt is losing its flavor (Matt. 5:13). It's naïve to believe the Church's present choices and values are not contributing to God's judgments on our nation.

My words here will likely upset the crowd that wants their church to be attractive to the lost. They will probably offend the ranks of those who wish to constantly draw attention to the positive  benefits of the Christian life. But enticing the lost is not what saves them any more than sipping doctrine through a straw provides a strong biblical foundation. The fact is it's much easier to tickle itchy ears with milky devotionals of mutual cooperation than to incur the bruises of a meaty confrontation (2 Tim. 4:3-4).

We're in a tight spot. Our kings are high-fiving themselves for every step they take away from virtue, and our prophets are patting themselves on the back for every step they take toward apostasy. The first group cares little for the truth about responsibility, and the second group cares little about responsibly telling the truth.

In the movie, A Few Good Men, Jack Nicholson's character thundered, "You can't handle the truth!" I feel many of today's prophets can't handle the truth; that they are enabling our nation's shameful state of affairs. So we euphorically sing about new generations rising up with selfless faith to near revivals, but that's only willful pretense.

It's not reality-not here, anyway. A "new generation" in the U.S. is departing from the truth in record numbers. The Barna Group, a leading research organization, says less than one-half of one percent of Christians between the ages of 18-23 have a biblical worldview, defined as believing:

*  Absolute moral truth exists.
*  The Bible is completely inerrant.
*  Satan is a real being, and not symbolic.
*  A person cannot earn his or her way into the kingdom of God though good works.
*  Jesus Christ was God incarnate and lived a sinless life on earth.
*  God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth and reigns over the entire universe today.

This problem with our young people is due in large part to the problem with our prophets. Swelling ranks of church leaders no longer believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, the deity of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the promises of Jesus Christ, and the return of Jesus Christ. Bluntly put, they really don't know Jesus Christ at all!

The abysmal failure of today's prophets recalls the church of Laodicea (Rev. 3:14-22). That church's problems were many, but looming large were its arrogance and self-satisfaction. Though it was in dire need of a genuine faith, the Laodicean church felt it was doing just fine. It failed to see itself accurately, and this describes far too many churches in America today. They are not only turning away from truth, but in thinking more highly of themselves than they ought to. They are also delusional.

The story of Ahab and Elijah introduces a sobering fact: those who turn away from the Word of God invite serious trouble. And when the judgment of God comes (and it will), it will be their own fault.  I believe we're seeing the beginning of the end now.

Some of the readers will undoubtedly close their eyes and place their hands over their ears at this point as they "LaLaLa" their way to their own nirvana. But according to Scripture, five qualities characterize the Church of the latter days. Whether one wishes to accept this or not, it's easy to see the role of today's prophets with these things right here right now:

1. GIVE UP - The church of the latter days will  give up traditional, strong, convicting truth and corrective teachings. It will opt instead for popular themes and approaches that upset nobody, sedate everybody, include anybody, and ignore "Somebody." (2 Tim. 4:3-4)

2. COUGH UP - The church of the latter days will be rich in resources, and it will cough up money for new buildings, new programs, new salaries, new campaigns, new equipment, and this list is virtually endless. Obsessed with money, the church will meet about it, talk about it, teach about it, pray for more of it, and worry about less of it. (Rev. 3:14-20)

3. TURN UP - The church of the latter days will  turn-up its nose at prophecy, specifically the literal prophecies surrounding Jesus Christ's second return. Rather than grasping the immense value of prophecy in the believer's life, the church will mock it, doubt it, shun it, twist it, and even ban it.  (2 Thess. 2:5; 2 Pet. 3:3-4)

4. SET UP - The church of the latter days will  set-up people, practices, and programs to convince itself it is thriving. Rather than measuring itself by God's standards, it will instead embrace false teachers, false signs, false wonders, false faith, and false values.  (Matt. 24:24)

5.  THROW UP - The church of the latter days will cause God to throw up. He will see it as comprehensively lukewarm, categorically lethargic, and completely lost.  (Rev. 3:16)

A hard fact that emerges from this five-point outline is that responsible prophets speak the full truth while irresponsible ones don't. Because it's the full approach that exposes who we really are and how we're really doing, it is inherently confrontational to what we want to believe about ourselves and the world in which we live. And that's exactly what makes the entire Word of God so vital in tenuous times as these.

To underscore this point, let's look at the gospel as an example. The gospel is a popular theme in pulpits today-as it should be. Concurrently, new coalitions are infatuated with it and discussion forums obsess about it. Sermons are manipulated to conform to it. Sunday school curriculums are designed around it, and pressure increases on multiple fronts to interpret every single passage of Scripture by it. Even while all these trends and passions mount, more young people are falling away from it. Something is terribly wrong. We're missing something.

When the angel of Rev. 14:6-7 will declare the "eternal gospel" to the whole world, it's a divinely-mandated disclosure. But it's not the easy-to-swallow, user-friendly, seeker-sensitive delivery of the pabulum we typically hear today. There is no goal in the angel's words to be attractive to the lost. There is no agenda to identify with one group or to avoid offending another. Instead, the message will be in-your-face, confrontational, brief; and by every one of today's tepid standards, it will be "politically incorrect."

And, oh yes-it will also be very effective!

Today's prophets need to see a standard in that angel's message. For starters, the gospel the angel proclaims is comprehensive. It starts with creation and it ends with judgment. That's one way of saying the proper gospel message stretches from Genesis to Revelation. There's no emphasis on the New Testament. There's no focus on promoting Christian community, making the unsaved feel welcome, or developing good neighbor habits. The angel's message is the urgency of the entire Word of God delivered in a take-no-prisoners style.

Secondly, the angel's gospel message leaves no wiggle room. The late Andrew Murray once said, "To convince the world of the truth of Christianity, it must first be convinced of sin. It is only sin that renders Christ intelligible." Let's put Murray's quote another way: "The gospel makes most sense when it is plainly stated alongside a frank declaration of the presence and consequences of sin."

That's the sort of gospel message that has always changed lives. But it's difficult to communicate this sort of gospel in churches where genuine preaching is set aside in favor of "having a conversation," where judgment is never mentioned, where sin is seldom defined, and where true remorse is hardly encouraged. Summarily speaking, it's difficult for the prophets to promote repentance when they are not doing their job!

Let's return to our original issue and confess that, yes, kings will fail! And yes, prophets will let us down, too. But we cannot afford protracted, widespread, and willful collapse of essential duties on both fronts at the same time. Unfortunately, that's happening-right now in the good ol' USA!

In these precarious circumstances, the burden of immediate accountability lies with the prophets, who, unlike the kings, claim to conduct their lives with eternal objectives. And if the prophets don't see the situation for what it is; then those they claim to serve should speak out. The bottom line is this: The Church was never commissioned to provide  pulpit pep talks to make the unsaved feel welcome; those "talks" are much more effective at keeping God outside the door.

As long as it's still here, the Church continues to be God's representative on the earth, but it finds itself in a weak spot. Given the graduating spiritual crisis in this country, it's silly to chase popular songs that have zero foundation in reality, and it's recalcitrant to applaud a host of standards which cozy up to Christian culture rather than Christ-likeness.

Till such time as that may come, we are indeed the Laodicean church; we are broken, wretched, and naked. The best thing that can be said about us is we are lukewarm; and by biblical standards-that's absolutely horrible. We defend a premise that isn't and we perpetuate things we shouldn't. We are marinated in a form of godliness but we have no real power (2 Tim. 3:5).

Instead, we celebrate mediocrity, and we despise those who shed any light on the real problems.   It is critical that we strain our ears and listen for the soft knock that's being drowned out by our own self-indulgent antics. We need to repent and humbly invite God back into our fellowship.   This is our nation's only hope.

I'll wrap up here by putting these important issues into historical perspective. Alexis De Tocqueville, the French political thinker  from the 1800s once noted of our country:

I looked throughout America to find where her greatness originated. I looked for it in her harbors and on her shorelines, in her fertile fields and boundless prairies, and in her gold mines and vast world commerce, but it was not there. It was not until I went to the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did I understand   the secret of her success. America is great because she is good, and if America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.

Alexis De Tocqueville got it right. There is a direct connection between the health of our nation and the health of our churches. Today's prophets must repent themselves and once again blaze truth from their pulpits.

Our nation's prognosis-indeed its very survival depends on this!

"MANY SHALL COME IN MY NAME" BY JACK KINSELLA FROM "THE OMEGA LETTER"!!

Many Shall Come In My Name - Jack Kinsella -www.omegaletter.com

''And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.'' (Revelation 13:11)

This verse serves as the introduction to the false religion that will sweep the world under antichrist during the tribulation.  Note than John describes the False Prophet has having two horns like a lamb, but that he 'spake as a dragon'.

The symbolism here is sublimely obvious.  This is, after all, the Bible.  We are introduced to the 'dragon' during the Tribulation in Revelation 12:3, where;

"There appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads."

The dragon is clearly identified in Revelation 12:9:

"And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."

So, the dragon is Satan and it is his doctrine that will form the foundation of the religion of antichrist. However, it will appear to be a form of Christianity, symbolized by 'the lamb'.

The identity of the Lamb within the context of the Book of the Revelation is equally unquestionable:

"These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful." (Revelation 17:14)

It is tempting to insert Islam as the false religion of the last days that will sweep the world during the Tribulation Period.  Islam already claims a third of the world's population, practices forced conversions, routinely uses beheading as a form of execution, and pretty much fits the character of the theocracy in John's description.

But it is an impossible stretch to envision Islam in the context of a counterfeit Christianity.  Islam's hatred of Christianity stretches back to the time of the Crusaders, and its hatred of Israel traces back to the sons of Abraham.  No Islamic would identify themselves religiously with either Christianity or Judaism.

But the antichrist is accepted, at least for a time, as Israel's messiah. (2nd Thessalonians 2:4,John 5:43, Matthew 24:15) That completely disqualifies Islam from either direction.

And John is too definite about his depiction of a form of Christianity without Christ for us to wish away as inconvenient to a theory.

Assessment:

When asked of the signs of His impending return by His disciples, the very first sign Jesus cited was that of religious deception.

"For many shall come in My Name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." (Matthew 24:5)

"And He said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in My name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them." (Luke 21:8)

In the last century, there has been an explosion of religious cults that claim to be Christian, while simultaneously denying Christ.

Most call themselves 'Christians' use the Bible as their Sacred Scripture, and may even have the name of Christ in the title of their church... but they say that "Jesus is not God", or that Jesus Christ is god as much as you and I are god, like the Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses.

A research paper entitled, 'Churches and Church Membership in the United States, 1990' ranked the Jehovah's Witnesses 9th among the top 10 religious bodies with the most churches in the US.

The Mormons ranked 8 among the top ten, whereas the Episcopal Church, the American branch of the Church of England, ranks 10th.

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, the official name for the 'Jehovah's Witnesses' was founded by Charles Taze Russell in 1852, with the first formal organization being founded in Pittsburgh in 1872.  They now number three million worldwide and growing, based on the following doctrine:

Jehovah's Witnesses see the doctrine of the Trinity as a demonic doctrine.  Their theology strips Jesus of His Deity, claiming He is not God, but 'a god' a created being on a par with Lucifer.  They deny the physical resurrection of Christ, and deny the doctrine of an eternal hell.

In the past, they have officially announced the date of the Second Coming of Christ and Armageddon on six different occasions: 1914, 1918, 1920, 1925, 1941, and 1975.  Yet their membership is among the most active, and their ranks continue to swell.

The Mormons are officially called "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints".  Numbering over ten million, they are one of the fastest growing religious cults in the world.  Among their doctrinal teachings is that God was once a man who became God.

The Mormon god has a physical body, as does his wife, the heavenly mother.  Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are three separate gods.

Worthy men may one day become gods themselves.  Jesus was married and had children with the two sisters of Lazarus, Maria and Martha... and Jesus became God.  And so can a Mormon.

"As man now is, God once was; as God now is, man can become", is one of the most famous aphorisms of the Mormons.  This elevation to godhood is only open to faithful male Mormons, but this concept of "every man is god", has been taken up by the New Age Movement, (but using different methods to become god).

Man as god is also the central tenet of secular humanism, another 'religious' cult that has taken root and thrived in the very heart of our global institutions, as well as most national governments.

Then there are the others; Christian Science Church, founded in 1875 by Mary Baker Eddy.  The cult is neither Christian, scientific, nor a church, but wields huge influence through its prestigious daily newspaper, "The Christian Science Monitor."

The Church of Scientology was founded in 1954 by science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard.  It's doctrine is utterly bizarre; Mankind is descended from a race of interplanetary omnipotent gods called "thetans".

Gradually they evolved by reincarnation to become humans who could not remember their deified state, but every human is a god!  The problem is the "engrams", the traumatic experiences in past lives, which impede spiritual progress, and they are the reason of all diseases.

The only remedy is 'auditing' which is very expensive.  Auditing runs about $300 per hour, and courses, high level courses, of up to $10,000 or $50,000.

In Scientology, Jesus is not the creator.  He was in control of supernatural powers, "cleared" from mental defects, but he was not an "operating thetan".  Initially, Hubbard taught that Jesus did not exist.  When Hubbard later acknowledged his existence, he claimed Jesus was gay.  The Holy Spirit is not mentioned. Salvation comes after many "auditings".

The Worldwide Church of God was founded in 1934 by Herbert W Armstrong.  At his death, his son, Garner Ted Armstrong took over the leadership of the Church.  It teaches that the 10 lost tribes of Israel are the British and that the American descendants of the British are the "Chosen People of God".  England is "Ephraim", and the USA is "Manasseh."

The WWCG teaches that all other churches teach in error.  They deny the existence of the Trinity, and include keeping the Jewish feasts, the Sabbath, and keeping kosher.  Armstrong once taught that Queen Elizabeth now sits on the Throne to which Christ will lay claim at His return.

Each of these former cults are now part of mainstream American Christianity, with huge influence that is translating into rapid growth.

Scientology's apologists include people like Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Kirstie Alley, Isaac Hayes, Patrick Swayze and even Greta Van Susteren of Fox News.

Christian Science has the 'Monitor'; the Jehovah's Witnesses sell 100,000 tracts every day door to door; and the Mormons have their own state, Utah, complete with senators and congressmen.

Armstrongism has its "Plain Truth" Magazine, "The World Tomorrow" television program and Garner Ted Armstrong's "Philadelphia Trumpet" and "Key of David" television program.

Then there are the 'Moonies', founded in 1954 by Sun Yung Moon.  The 'Moonies' are nothing short of nuts.  They deny Christ's Deity, claiming Jesus was the illegitimate offspring of Zechariah and Mary.

Moon claimed (who died in 2012)  to be the third Adam, the second Christ, and God himself incarnated.  AND . . Moon owned both "The Washington Times" and "Newsworld Magazine."

The point is this.  Each of these cults, claims to be Christian, while simultaneously denying His Deity.  Each is in a position of tremendous influence.

While some of the media organs are currently benign, it wouldn't take much for them to be retooled as propaganda tools to advance the concept of Christians Without Christ as a workable religious system.

The proof is in the preponderance of them that exist already.

"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. . . And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world." "THE DANGERS OF PRE-MILLENNIALISM" BY ALF CENGIA FROM THE BRILLIANT "OMEGA LETTER"!!

The Dangers of Premillennialism - Alf Cengia -http://www.omegaletter.com/articles/articles.asp?ArticleID=8205

The dangers of premillennialism and taking the Bible too literally...

While browsing through a local second-hand book store recently, I came across yet another book attacking dispensationalism. It warned about the subtle dangers associated with premillennialism. Since I'm a sucker for punishment, I bought it. This one is called Left Behind or Left Befuddled, written by Gordon L. Isaac.

I like to understand what the opposition says, and how it thinks. I call it the sort of "research" which keeps me honest and on my toes. But I'm beginning to think that I enjoy feeding my Inner Curmudgeon. Maybe I just like being Grumpy.

Just about all these polemical books operate along the same themes. It's as if these critics attended the same "How to Attack Premillennial Dispensationalism" seminary course. Whenever I see the words "Left Behind" sprinkled throughout a book, I know where the bulk of the focus will be and the pattern of attack.

These critics refer to John Darby and the assumed 19th century origin of dispensationalism. Next stop is Scofield and onwards to Hal Lindsey and Tim LaHaye. Along the way it is normal practice to mention the alleged personal faults of these people as a way to disparage premillennialism, dispensationalism and the rapture.

Note that the rapture criticism found in these sorts of book is a red herring.

WILL JESUS RETURN NEXT MONTH ON APRIL 13TH?? I DO NOT THINK SO! BUT HERE IS A "MUST WATCH" BUT CONTROVERSIAL SHORT VIDEO FROM THE INSPIRATIONAL AND CUTTING EDGE "ARMAGEDDON NEWS" ON THIS CLIMATIC AND MOMENTOUS EVENT! FRIENDS, IT IS TIME TO MAKE YOUR MINDS UP!!!
