Dividing Israel, Defying God: The World's Dangerous Path Toward Judgment

Nations who once stood against terrorism are now preparing to reward it with legitimacy, flags, and U.N. seats.

Make no mistake: this is not about peace. It’s about power. It’s about appeasing an ideology that has raised its children to hate Jews and murder Israelis. And it’s about something even more sobering for believers: this is another step to fulfilling bible prophecy.

It almost feels a bit surreal. I have been aware of the seventieth week of Daniel’s prophecy at least since my seminary days in the late 1970s. As a young pastor, I spent many Sunday evenings teaching through the book of Daniel, highlighting its prophecies. During the past ten years, I have often written about the peace covenant that the antichrist will make with Israel (Daniel 9:27).

Now, as I watch the world clamoring to bring peace to the Mideast by seeking to impose a peace accord upon Israel, I wonder, “How much closer can we get to the Tribulation without the Rapture happening?”

A Great Day Is Coming

We are living in amazing times. A great day is coming, and it looks like we can see it approaching. Jesus talked about it. He said there hasn’t been anything like it since the beginning of the world, no, nor ever shall be (Matt. 24:21).

The prophet Jeremiah talked about it.

He said, “Alas! For the day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble: but he shall be saved out of it” (Jer. 30:7).

The prophet Zephaniah saw it.

He said, “The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, a day of trumpet and alarm” (Zeph. 1:14-16a).
