People like Paula White, Benny Hinn, Rod Parsley, Kenneth Copeland and dozens of others have made untold millions convincing people that they have the apostolic gifts of miraculous healing. Yet strangely, as COVID rages, every single one of them is now silent.
As you read this, please know that I am not speaking from a position a sarcasm, scorn or mocking derision, I am asking an actual and legitimate question, one addressed to the corporate Body of Christ. For many years, I have watched as high-profile members of the Charismatic evangelical church rented out stadium after stadium, holding healing lines claiming the power to heal sick people of their illnesses. A global pandemic is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate these gifts to a world very desperate to receive them. Wait, what? Where did everybody go?
"A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?" Jeremiah 5:30,31 (KJB)
I know people who have died from COVID, as of this writing I have many, too many friends in the thick of battling against it, and the whole world is worn about from thinking about it, talking about it and having to deal with the fallout from it. People like Paula White, Benny Hinn, Rod Parsley, Kenneth Copeland, Rodney Howard Browne and dozens of others have made untold millions convincing people that they have the apostolic gifts of miraculous healing. Yet strangely, every single one of them is now silent. No more being 'slain in the spirit', anointed prayer cloths, miracle holy water, or the crowd-pleasing smack in the forehead and being pronounced as "healed!!!" Why? Because these fakers never had the apostolic gifts, they never had the power to heal people of a mosquito bite, much less healing people from a deadly, gain-of-function virus. Only God can do that.
I could write a thousand articles exposing the heresy of the Charismatic Prosperity Gospel, I've written dozens of them, but a thousand articles are a trifle compared to the whole world watching COVID, and seeing the Charismatics rendered mute because of it. Every claim they've ever made telling you they have the 'gift of healing' forever blown to smithereens, with not one of these false professors standing up and now saying they can heal you. But they used to say that, they used to claim they could do it, just as long as you weren't really sick, and there were no metrics to validate their work against.
Can you imagine if they really could heal people? There wouldn't be a building or arena of any size large enough to hold the people who would show up.
If you're a Charismatic pastor, preacher or evangelist, I'd like to ask you a favor. You guys have claimed for years you have the apostolic gifts of healing, I have a few friends that really need to be healed. If you could hold one of those healings lines I've watched you do hundreds of times over the years, they would really be grateful. I'll be happy to drive them there. Thank you.
