HOW MANY CRIMINALS WERE CRUCIFIED BY THE SIDE OF JESUS?? IT WAS NOT TWO MY FRIENDS, IT WAS FOUR AS YOU WILL DISCOVER HERE!!

How many were crucified with Jesus?

It is commonly believed that our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified along with two other men, and that his cross was between theirs. This belief has been portrayed in many different ways, including pictures, television, movies, bumper stickers, crosses along the roadside, and crosses in church yards. If we look more deeply into the Word of God, however, we learn that there were not two other men crucified with Jesus, but four other men, two on each side of Jesus. Although this may seem like a minor point, there is value in truth, and much value in being able to read and understand the whole Bible and see that it does not contain contradictions. If there were only two men crucified with Jesus, then there are verses in the Four Gospels that would contradict each other. Realizing that there were four men crucified next to Jesus gets rid of the apparent contradictions and difficulties, and very importantly, gives us a true picture of what the crucifixion scene was like.
God exhorts us to be workmen of the Word of God and to “rightly divide” it (2 Tim. 2:15 KJV). When it comes to events in the Four Gospels, this means that we have to read any given record in all four Gospels and pay close attention to the details. We have to note events, times, and places. Sometimes different Gospels give differing details of the same event, but sometimes events that seem quite similar are actually different. Using the different information in each of the Gospels to arrive at a clear picture of the whole event is known as “narrative development.”

SHOULD WE REALLY BE CELEBRATING EASTER?? A BIBLE BELIEVER POSES SOME VERY INTERESTING QUESTIONS ON THIS!!

New post on Now The End Begins

A Bible Believer Asks Should Christians Be Celebrating Easter?

by Geoffrey Grider

On Easter Sunday night we celebrate the Lord's Supper to remember His death until He comes again to get us as He has promised. That's it, that's Easter for the bible believing Christian.

"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."Matthew 28:6 (KJV
Give Him the Glory. First things first, let's talk about Jesus and give Him the glory and not some silly pagan bunny with a basket of eggs. When we, as bible believing Christians, say that we are celebrating 'Easter Sunday', what exactly do we mean?
We celebrate the fact that Jesus did indeed 'rise from the dead' after His crucifixion as He had promised to do. Because He lives, the bible says, we will live also. His empty tomb is our victory, our certainty of eternal life with Him in Heaven. When Jesus rose from the dead, the way to God in Heaven was forever opened for all those who would accept Him by faith. When Jesus said:
"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6 (KJV)
He backed up those words by the empty tomb. You want proof that Jesus is who He said He is, go visit the empty tomb. He is not there, for He lives! So when we go to church this Easter Sunday morning, there will be no colored eggs (pagan), no easter bunny (pagan), or any of the other mix of paganism and crass commercialism that we associate with Easter. We celebrate His death on the cross that paid our sin debt, and we celebrate Jesus rising from the dead on the third day. And on Easter Sunday night we celebrate the Lord's Supper to remember His death until He comes again to get us as He has promised. That's it, that's Easter for the bible believing Christian.

What about Acts 12:4?

"And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people." Acts 12:4 (KJV)
The Greek word which is translated "Easter" in Acts 12:4 is the word "pascha". This word appears twenty-nine times in the New Testament. Twenty-eight of those times the word is rendered "Passover" in reference to the night when the Lord passed over Egypt and killed all the firstborn of Egypt (Exodus 12:12), thus setting Israel free from four hundred years of bondage. The many opponents to the concept of having a perfect Bible have made much of this translation of "pascha". Coming to the word "Easter" in God's Authorized Bible, they seize upon it imagining that they have found proof that the Bible is not perfect.
Fortunately for lovers of the word of God, they are wrong. Easter, as we know it, comes from the ancient pagan festival of Astarte. Also known as Ishtar (pronounced "Easter"). This festival has always been held late in the month of April. It was, in its original form, a celebration of the earth "regenerating" itself after the winter season. The festival involved a celebration of reproduction. For this reason the common symbols of Easter festivities were the rabbit (the same symbol as "Playboy" magazine), and the egg. Both are known for their reproductive abilities. At the center of attention was Astarte, the female deity. She is known in the Bible as the "queen of heaven" (Jeremiah 7:18; 44:17-25). She is the mother of Tammuz (Ezekiel 8:14) who was also her husband! These perverted rituals would take place at sunrise on Easter morning (Ezekiel 8:13-16). From the references in Jeremiah and Ezekiel, we can see that the true Easter has never had any association with Jesus Christ.
Even though the Jewish passover was held in mid April (the fourteenth) and the pagan festival Easter was held later the same month, how do we know that Herod was referring to Easter in Acts 12:4 and not the Jewish passover? If he was referring to the passover, the translation of "pascha" as "Easter" is incorrect. If he was indeed referring to the pagan holyday (holiday) Easter, then the King James Bible (1611) must truly be the very word and words of God for it is the only Bible in print today which has the correct reading.
To unravel the confusion concerning "Easter" in verse 4, we must consult our FINAL authority, THE BIBLE. The key which unlocks the puzzle is found not in verse 4, but in verse 3. (Then were the days of unleavened bread... ") To secure the answer that we seek, we must find the relationship of the passover to the days of unleavened bread. We must keep in mind that Peter was arrested during the "days of unleavened bread" (Acts 12:3). Our investigation will need to start at the first Passover. This was the night in which the LORD smote all the firstborn in Egypt. The Israelites were instructed to kill a lamb and strike its blood on the two side posts and the upper door post (Exodus 12:4, 5). Let us now see what the Bible says concerning the first passover, and the days of unleavened bread.

The Exodus and the First Passover

"And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever. Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you. And ye shall observe the feast ofunleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever.
In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even." Exodus 12:13,14 (KJV)

Back To Acts 12

"And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people."
Verse 3 shows that Peter was arrested during the days of unleavened bread (April 15-21). The Bible says: "Then were the days of unleavened bread." The passover (April 14th) had already come and gone. Herod could not possibly have been referring to the passover in his statement concerning Easter. The next Passover was a year away! But the pagan holiday of Easter was just a few days away. Remember! Herod was a pagan Roman who worshipped the "queen of heaven". He was NOT a Jew. He had no reason to keep the Jewish passover. Some might argue that he wanted to wait until after the passover for fear of upsetting the Jews. There are two grievous faults in this line of thinking.
First, Peter was no longer considered a Jew. He had repudiated Judaism. The Jews would have no reason to be upset by Herod's actions. Second, he could not have been waiting until after the passover because he thought the Jews would not kill a man during a religious holiday. They had killed Jesus during passover (Matthew 26:17-19, 47). They were also excited about Herod's murder of James. Anyone knows that a mob possesses the courage to do violent acts during religious festivities, not after.
In further considering Herod's position as a Roman, we must remember that the Herods were well known for celebrating (Matthew 14:6-11). In fact, in Matthew chapter 14 we see that a Herod was even willing to kill a man of God during one of his celebrations. It is elementary to see that Herod, in Acts 12, had arrested Peter during the days of unleavened bread, after the passover. The days of unleavened bread would end on the 21st of April. Shortly after that would come Herod's celebration of pagan Easter. Herod had not killed Peter during the days of unleavened bread simply because he wanted to wait until Easter.
Since it is plain that both the Jews (Matthew 26:17-47) and the Romans (Matthew 14:6-11) would kill during a religious celebration, Herod's opinion seemed that he was not going to let the Jews "have all the fun." He would wait until his own pagan festival and see to it that Peter died in the excitement. Thus we see that it was God's providence which had the Spirit-filled translators of our Bible (King James) to CORRECTLY translate "pascha" as "Easter". It most certainly did not refer to the Jewish passover. In fact, to change it to "passover" would confuse the reader and make the truth of the situation unclear.

"THE GATHERING OF ISRAEL" BY ALF CENGIA FROM THE BRILLIANT "OMEGA LETTER"!!

The Gathering of Israel - Alf Cengia -http://www.omegaletter.com/articles/articles.asp?ArticleID=8213

Is the gathering of the elect in Matthew 24:31 the rapture, as non-pretribulationists insist? Or is it the final gathering and salvation of national Israel?

I've covered this subject before. Much of the following will be repetition but I think it's worth revisiting.

A leading pretrib opponent recently rejected Dr. Thomas Ice's use of Deut 30:4 in context to v 31's gathering of the elect. One reason given by this prewrath proponent was that "one cannot merely link words or expressions simply because they are similar." He claimed this was the "similarity = identity fallacy" and that context should determine meaning.

Allegedly this context begins with Jesus' coming in the clouds (Matt 24:30-31). It's then asserted that God's wrath hasn't occurred before this time, only "Antichrist's great tribulation." Connections are drawn between v 31, Revelation 6 and Revelation 7:9-14 to justify that the great multitude is the raptured church.

Walter Scott and A. T. Robertson point out that the arrival of this multitude is while the great tribulation is occurring, not after (Matt 24:29). Saints are continually arriving. Hence this multitude isn't the result of the rapture.

He argues that Israel's salvation occurs at the end of the seven-year period so Matt 24:31 must be the rapture, which occurs before then. This commits the fallacy where evidence is provided for the validity of an assertion, which assumes the validity of that assertion. It assumes the rapture occurs before the end of the week based on the presumption the great tribulation is cut short for the church.

Other reasons given are that Jesus' use of Daniel 12:2 provides for the resurrection event missing in Matt 24:31. Unfortunately this chapter describes a tribulation period lasting three-and-a-half years with the resurrection after the end of the week (Dan 12:7, 13) for Daniel's people Israel, not the church. Note also that Dan 12:2 spans over 1000 years (see Rev 20:4-13).

It's also maintained v 31 is the rapture because Jesus used rapture language (episunago). Is this not a similarity fallacy? Jesus used this same expression for Israel's physical gathering (Matt 23:39).

There are a number of OT verses (not just Deut 30:1-5) which speak of a future gathering of saved Israel (Isaiah 27:13, 11:10-12; Zech 10:8-12 etc). In fact, the writer of the article believes Jesus returns from heaven after the rapture to gather Israel into the land, and then returns to heaven. From this we see that:

1) His system teaches more than one future appearance of Christ

2) It recognizes a future gathering for Israel

Speaking of fallacies, pretrib opponents use "similarity" to bundle all rapture and second coming verses together to argue for a single Parousia. And Robert Van Kampen includes four different comings within that Parousia.

Apart from v 31, there aren't NT verses explicitly referring to Israel's gathering. We get this information from the Old Testament, whether it is Deut 30 or some other verse. The questions posed to Jesus by the disciples were driven from their OT expectations regarding Israel's future. The final premillennial gathering of Israel is a natural outcome flowing from the disciples' questions.

Commentators have noted that Matt 24:29-30 hearkens back to Zechariah 12:10. That the context points to Israel is further corroborated in Acts 1:6-7. The disciples weren't concerned about the rapture at that time. Why would that be?

The expression "Antichrist's great tribulation" doesn't appear in Scripture either. This term is strategically used to focus away from God's wrath and onto "Satan's wrath." The latter idea is taken from Rev 12:12. Yet the presence of God's wrath in the seal judgments is clear when comparing the language of the 4th seal with Ezek 5:15-17, 7:3-19, 14:21. Wrath, judgment and Day of the Lord themes are all present in these verses.

This period is known as Jacob's trouble, not "Antichrist's tribulation." It is a time of unprecedented tribulation always spanning three-and-a-half years. We derive this from the following verses: Jer 30:7; Dan 12:1, 7; Matt 24:21; Rev 13:5, 7, 12:6, 14.

The expression "cut short" in Matt 24:21 means that, unless this period is limited by God (i.e., not allowed to continue indefinitely) - no one would be saved alive. Jacob's trouble is designed to bring Israel to repentance (Hos 5:15). Christ will return upon Israel's contrition (Matt 23:39).

We routinely hear the objection that the term "elect" only applies to the church (not unsaved Israel) - therefore the gathering of v31 must be the rapture. First of all the disciples understood the term "elect" to be national Israel based on the OT (Deut 7: 6-7; 2 Sam 7:23-24; 1 Chron 16:13; Isaiah 43:1-7, Isaiah 45:4). This status is affirmed in the NT by Peter and Paul (Acts 3:12, 13-15, 25; Rom 11:26-29).

By the time Israel has endured Jacob's trouble and calls out to its Savior, it will have entered into covenant relationship with the Lord. This is what the 70th week (especially the 2nd half) is designed for. Once Hos 5:15 and Matt 23:39 have come to pass, the gathering of the elect nation Israel will follow.

On the other hand, the promise to the faithful church is to be kept from God's wrath (1 Thess 5:9) and the hour of trial which will overtake the world:

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

We've seen evidence that Israel's gathering is what's in view in Matt 24:31. The Book of Revelation provides the church with a promise to be kept from the hour of trial which comes upon the world. A normal reading of the nature of the seal judgments strongly suggests they are included in this trial.

Sometimes - for whatever their personal reasons - non-pretribulationists complicate things too much in order to debunk pretribulationism. See Richard Mayhue's Why a Pretribulational Rapture?

Jesus could come for His church at any time.

So keep looking up.

"MOCKERS IN THE LAST DAYS" BY THE INSPIRATIONAL DR JOHN McTERNAN!!

WARNING: Mockers in the Last Days - John McTernan -http://www.defendproclaimthefaith.org/mockers_last_days.html

I recently noticed a tremendous increase in mockers and scoffers that attack my ministry. It is not only my ministry, but the mockers are attacking Christianity and the Bible in general. In the past a very small percentage of the population were atheists, agnostics and others who would attack the authority of the Bible. But in the last few years, there has been an explosion of rejecting the Bible to the degree that about 20 percent of the population fall into the category and increasing all the time. This rejection is not passive but militant and aggressive. The spirit behind this rejection reminds me of the spirit of the French Revolution. This is serious rebellion against the Bible.

What was so significant to me about the mocking was the power of it. There seemed to be a vicious, disarming spiritual power associated with the mockers. It seemed impossible to cut through this mocking spirit to defend and proclaim the faith. In a sense, the mocking felt overpowering, which greatly alarmed me, as I never had encountered this power before. It is the rise of the spirit of antichrist preparing the way for the "man of sin".

Because of the effect of this mocking power, I studied the Bible to find out what is so significant about mocking and this dangerous evil power it was generating. I was stunned with what I found. The spiritual implications for both the mockers and America are frightening.

On two occasions the Bible warns that the closer the coming of the Lord Jesus, the greater the mockers/scoffers will become. These verses are found in 2 Peter 3 and Jude, and what is so significant is both verses stress that the prophets and apostles warned about the mockers! Apparently the mockers are a sure indicator that the "last time" or Day of the LORD is near. It is going to be a powerful force as the Lord's Second Coming draws near. The driving force of the mockers is sinful lusts! Sin has taken over and controls a person, and this is the power behind the mockers!

Notice one of the main focuses of mockers is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 3:2-4 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?

Jude adds something very important about the mockers. They are completely given over to sin and are without the Spirit of the Lord in their life; therefore, they are reprobates with a mind that is at war with God. Their mind is void of anything connected with God.

Jude 1:17-19 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.  These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

The ultimate mocking was found when Jesus Christ was in the hands of evil men and He was dying on the cross. This mocking was satan using men to directly attack the Lord Jesus and it was with an all-out mocking attack! You will notice when reading these verses that the mocking involved action. As they were torturing the Lord, they were also mocking Him. This was an all-out brutal attack by satan to try and break the Lord. The full hatred of satan was being unleashed against the Lord, and at the heart of it was mocking! Mocking is one of satan's most powerful tools against believers.

Matthew 27:29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

Matthew 27:31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him. Mark 15:31Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.

Luke 22:63 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.

Luke 23:11 And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate. Luke 23:36 And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,

Mockers are the Seal of God's Coming Judgment

There are two criteria for a society to fulfill which seals its destruction from God. The first is to legalize iniquity while the second is to mock God and those that warn of the coming judgment for sin. God clearly lays out in the Bible what are the conditions for triggering His righteous judgment on a nation. America is now almost completed these requirements and is ready for judgment. A judgment from which there is NO remedy.

The First Criteria:

The Ordinances of the Amorites/Americans

Genesis 15:16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.

God told Abraham that his descendants were going to leave the land of Canaan for 400 years because the iniquity of the people living in the land was not complete. There is a process for a society to be engulfed by iniquity. In the case of the Amorites/Canaanites, God gave these people 400 years to stop iniquity. God knew that after 400 years the iniquity of the people would reach its peak. The people would not turn from sin, but they would completely embrace it.

When studying Genesis 15:16 there is a key word in this verse. It is the Hebrew word translated full. This word is directly connected with the idea of friendly or friendship. The concept of this word is that when a society is friendly with iniquity at that point it is subject to judgment from God. Iniquity is no longer shameful or a disgraceful. It is not hidden or done in the dark. The people are friendly with it. They are accustomed to it. In Genesis 15:16, the Bible does not define iniquity: it simply states that there is a time for it to mature in a society and become full.

After the 400 years, the Jews left Egypt and came back to the land of Canaan. Today it is called the land of Israel. At this time, the Bible identifies what is iniquity. In Leviticus 18, God warned the Jews not to follow the ordinances of the Canaanites who lived in the land. The Canaanites and Amorites blended into one people; therefore it is also the ordinances of the Amorites that are mentioned in Genesis 15:16.

Leviticus 18:3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.

In the above verse, the key word is ordinances. The Hebrew word means an enactment and is also translated custom, manner, and statute. By using the word ordinance the Bible is describing a society that is "friendly" with iniquity. Iniquity had become ingrained in the Canaanite society by both customs and laws, which made it a way of life. For this reason, God is about to judge the Canaanites and drive them off the land. The judgment comes because iniquity is an ordinance of the society and not because individuals are committing sin. When a society makes iniquity an ordinance, this is extremely serious with God. It is a trigger and the first requirement for judgment.

Later in Leviticus chapter 18, the Bible defines iniquity. It includes such acts as: fornication, adultery, child sacrifice, homosexuality and bestiality. Homosexuality is singled out from this group and described as an abomination. Without any doubt, God strongly condemns the homosexual act as iniquity. There is no section in the Old Testament where God approves or condones homosexuality. The homosexual act is a very serious offense to God. It is linked with child sacrifice and bestiality. When homosexuality becomes an ordinance, it is a leading trigger for God's judgment.

The Scriptures to show this follow:

Leviticus 18:20 Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her. (Adultery)
 (21) And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD. (Child sacrifice)
 (22) Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.(Homosexuality)
 (23) Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. (Bestiality)

The Bible warns that when homosexuality becomes an ordinance, social custom or norm, it will bring God's judgment on that nation. When the Bible defines iniquity, the homosexual act would automatically fall under the description of this word. In the strongest language possible, the Bible says, because of iniquity being made an ordinance, the land will vomit out its inhabitants. The Scriptures to show this follows:

Leviticus 18:24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:

 (25) And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
 (26) Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
 (27) (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)

The United States now is enacting, by both customs and laws, the Ordinances of the Amorites; therefore the nation is defiled before the holy God of Israel and faces His judgment. By promoting homosexuality, America has become like the ancient pagan Amorites and has now come under the direct judgment of God. America promotes homosexuality by custom with events such as Gay Pride Day, Gay Awareness Month (June), Gay day at Disney land, Gay Day at sporting events and events like Southern Decadence in New Orleans. There are gay clubs in high school and colleges. The political parties are pandering to the homosexuals for their votes. By custom, homosexuality has woven into the fabric of America. It is an ordinance.

America is continually making ordinances to advance the homosexual agenda. They can legally "marry" in California, Massachusetts, and many other states. Homosexuals are now able to adopt children and gain custody of children during a divorce. There are now numerous hate speech laws which are being used to silence opposition to the homosexual agenda. Both federal and state courts are declaring that homosexuality is a "right". America is a long way down the road to enacting all the Ordinances of the Amorites.

The Bible warns of God judging a nation that enacts these ordinances. When the corporate attitude of a nation is friendly toward homosexuality then at this point the iniquity is full. It is apparent that "the cup" of America's sin is rapidly filling up. Americans hardly blush anymore at fornication and adultery. The nation kills over one million babies a year with up to 55 million killed "legally" since 1973. The legalizing of abortion was an additional "Ordinance of the Amorites/Americans". Homosexuality is fast becoming a constitutional right.

The only ordinance left to fulfill Leviticus 18 is bestiality. This sin is most likely being performed "under the radar" and is probably next on-line to become an ordinance. Please do not think that this is impossible as just 15 years ago few thought that "homosexual marriage" would be legalized was thought impossible. This ordinance came very fast and swept across the nation in a few years.

Psalm 107:33,34 He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground; a fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

The Second Criteria:

Mockers and Scoffers at the Warning of the Coming Judgment

God is merciful and always warns before judging a nation. At God's core He is holy, and His holiness will only allow a nation to go so far with iniquity. This is what happened to the Canaanites, as they enacted all the Ordinances of the Amorites and would not repent of these sins. Remember, that God is merciful and judges a nation only as the last resort. He desires for people to repent of their sinful ordinances and turn to Him for forgiveness.

Ezekiel 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

The last act before God judges a nation is that He warns of the coming destruction. This is seen in what happened with ancient Israel before it was destroyed by the Babylonians in 600 BC. The destruction was complete as the nation was destroyed with only a very small remnant of the people surviving. Jerusalem was burned along with the the magnificent temple. The religious system of worship was stopped and the kingdom was taken away. God warned this was going to happen, but the people wanted to live in the Ordinances or Amorites.

The religious and political leaders were leading the people into the iniquity! There were practicing all the Ordinances of the Amorites and had no intention of repenting.

2 Chronicles 36:14 Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

The Babylonians were on the way to destroy Israel, but God moved in one last effort of compassion toward the people. He sent final messengers to warn the people of the imminent destruction. They refused to repent and mocked the warning messengers of the Lord and also they despised His words. Their mocking was the final trigger for judgment. The Bible states that God reacted to the mocking with wrath and it sealed the judgment with NO remedy.

The combination of the Ordinances of the Amorites and the mocking sealed their destruction. The last act before judgment is that the people are so hardened in sin, they mock God, His word, and those that warn of the impending doom.

2 Chronicles 36:15-16 And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes (early), and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place: But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy

God warns that mockers will make their bands of judgment or chastisement much stronger. He will not allow mockers to get away with their arrogance.

Isaiah 28:22 Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.

The Swift Judgment

Once God sends His last warning and the people mock, the judgment is very swift with no way to stop it. There is no remedy, and the people are sealed into the destruction. When the mockers take over, the destruction SUDDENLY hits.

Proverbs 6:15 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.

Proverbs 29:1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

How to Handle Mockers

Proverbs 14:9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

The Bible clearly states that the power behind mockers is their sinful lusts. Mockers will protect their lusts at all costs. The Bible then identifies mockers as fools. It is the fool's mouth which sets his destruction and a snare to the soul. The mocking then seals them into judgment.

Proverbs 18:7 A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.Proverbs 23:9 Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.

If you understand that mockers and scoffers are fools then it easy to deal with them. It is best not to engage a fool.

I will not engage a mocker at his level as it is folly. There is great power in mocking as it is energized by hell. What I think is best to do is not to engage a mocker or proclaim judgment and repentance to them. I will proclaim warnings from the word of God to the mockers and go no further.

America's Future

The nation is NOW very hardened in the Ordinances of the Amorites with no sign of turning back to the Holy God of Israel. Most of the church has lost the fear of God and thus cannot see the judgment coming. The key now is to watch the growth of mockers. Atheists were a very small percentage of the population, but in the last 10 years the percentage has shot up to over 20 percent. As they grow in numbers, they also grow in power which energizes their mocking.

At the speed America is free-falling spiritually, in a very short time the mocking will be at the level of the final judgment. It is very sad to watch America die like this, But, when a nation turns from God to the Ordinances of Amorites, judgment awaits and there is no remedy.

Our job is to stay a faithful witness for the Lord to the end. We are to stay focused on the coming of the Lord Jesus for His bride. This is the Blessed Hope.

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
